Nook or Kindle? Advice, please.

Thank you all so much for your advice. Had to head off quickly after I posted yesterday. Today, I came back to read the replies today and learned a lot from each of your personal experiences about your preferences for certain features. Originally, I was leaning toward the kindle, but after reading some of the responses find that I like the Nook's library feature. DH is hard to buy for and likes to hold on to his things - unlike his DW who has no problem changing or upgrading - so I'm trying to get it right. I'm going to give this some more thought, but if I can't come to a decision just may end up asking him to help me choose the correct reader for him.
