DH and I our 3 (or by then 4) kids plus 3 grandparents are sourcing places to stay. I love the look of Reunion Resort, but we don't golf. Is it still worth it to stay there? We want a 4 bed house to rent and are most interested in a waterpark and scheduled activities for the kids. Really, the whole vacation will be for the kids, but we don't want to stay on site as we want a kitchen and to be able to stay together, in a nicer accommodation, something relaxing. Is Reunion our best bet? We're not going for quite a while, I just wanted to start researching. This will be our first time to Florida. Oh, and we'll probably be there for 2 weeks, if that makes a difference.

It is a very nice place to stay, but it is a bit of a drive to the Theme Parks. We were there last summer and loved the room. We were in a 3 bedroom and my boys loved the 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We did not golf at all.

If you are going to Animal Kingdom, it is not that far away because you can take the back roads directly to Animal Kingdom. It is a bit far away the other parks.

We made the mistake of staying there and purchased the Universal ticket deal - buy two, get the third day free. It was a good drive (almost 40 minutes) to get there.

It is beautiful there, great waterpark for the kids, beautiful Homes to rent. 2 exits from the disney exit, about 10 minutes to disney on I 4.

Hi Gracomom,

Reunion is the most luxurious rental community in orlando, its 6 miles to Disney so not far. The key thing to watch out for at Reunion is the rules around access to facilities. if you rent a property there make sure you are clear what access you will have to the waterpark and when. You'll find a great selection of homes on ReunionPrivateRentals .com

Good luck. Its an amazing resort.

I read recently that Reunion has/had financial problems and that the resort may not have been kept up as it could/should. Anyone know first hand? I found a house I'd love to rent, but don't want to be in the middle of half-completed construction or poorly kept amenities. Hoping this is not really the case. Thanks!

They were having financial difficulties. Wyndham essentially bailed them out with the addition of the timeshare portion of the resort.

Facilities are top notch and well kept. This is our first choice for the area and we will be there once again April 12.

Biggest concern to a renter as stated by a previous poster is to make sure what amenities are included in your stay at no additional charge. The water park is about $35/person/day and can add up quickly if not included. It is with some private rentals. The waterpark is included with all stays via Wyndham timeshare points or trades..
