Has anyone been able to confirm or deny the rumor that non ticket holders will be able to stay for MNSSHP this year. If this is true then I am really ticked.

I would also like the answer for this. It seems strange that they would let anyone who wants to stay, stay and do everything that I paid big bucks to do. We are not going to do many rides we were just going to walk around see the sights, trick or treat, see the parade and fireworks. If I have to fight for a place to see the parade and people without wristbands are standing in my way... WDW is going to get an earful!!!

This is my first MNSSHP and already I am stressed out about it, I don't need extra stress!

I doubt it. I was there last year and you get a special bracelett along with a trick or treat bag. They start ushering folks out of the parks and if you already have your special bracelett, they send you to a different area in the park. Last year was either toon town or adventure? not sure. I arrived at 6pm. No worries. You will have fun!

Where did this rumor start please (that non ticket holders would be allowed to stay for MNSSHP)???

Why would Disney allow that? Anyone?

Come on people....

The rumor is coming from the official park hours listed at disney.com. They state that the park closes at 7:00p, rather then the usual 6:00p. So no hour to clear the park.

Also, someone posted on another thread this:

They were talking about it on the WDW Today podcast this week. They couldn't believe they were going to do that and thought it was just a typo on the web site. So they called a source and were told it wasn't a typo. They aren't clearing the park. They'll make an announcement and ask people to leave. That's it. But why would anyone leave when they can see the parades and fireworks and characters for free?

So that is where the rumor is coming from.

Not sure where it started, but I'm interested to know the answer as well. If it is tru, I hope this doesn't happen for the MVMCP as well.

I am going to be really irritated if we get there and the park is jammed with hangers-on who didn't have to buy a ticket. Especially considering we had to pay higher prices than the earlier in the month to attend the party October 30.

I just called 4074Disney and asked if non ticket holders would be allowed to stay. The CM told me no they clear the park at 6pm. I then told her about the park hours listed as 7pm closing but she didn;t know why thyey were listed like that. So hope for the best.

>>> I am going to be really irritated if we get there and the park is jammed with hangers-on

Maybe they will herd the party guests to Tomorrowland anyway and do a tardy party start while they clear most of the regular guests out.

Or they will republish the official park hours as ending at 6 PM. Last minute park hour changes may be displayed on temporary sign boards at the park entrance, at the ticket booths, and at the monorail and ferry entrances.

Persons eating in restaurants with or without ADR's do not have to hustle out.

>>> They couldn't believe they were going to do that
There I was, standing at the top platform, ready to go down Blizzard Beach's Summit Plummet water slide. I'm terribly afraid of heights. I couldn't believe I was going to do that. But I did. I don't think I will do Summit Plummet again though.

Hopefully they will resume thinking straight quickly and their left hands and right hands and brains will then become resynchronized.

The event page on the official site lists the following...

"Admission to this event requires a separate ticket."

It would make no sense to let non-ticket holders remain. This has to be an oversight on the hours page. When we've gone in the past, they've always swept the park.

On WDW Today they said their source said no one could get in after a certain time (I forget what time they said) without a ticket, but that they weren't closing for an hour and sweeping the park like they used to. So if you were in before then there was no reason you couldn't stay in. You just wouldn't be able to ride any attractions. Mike Scopa was pretty appalled by it. I think they'll be looking into it more. They all seemed pretty dumbfounded by it too.

ETA: I was trying to find the show notes for it but I think it was the live show and those notes aren't up yet. The show is on the web site though and on iTunes if you want to listen to it.

I've emailed Disney from their site - this is how I got an answer that there would be no free photo.

So, once they answer about this, I'll post their answer...

Could be an imagineering experiment to see how well they could clear the parks on the fly, i.e. not having an hour of downtime.

They could even be experimenting with RFID wristbands (radio frequency identification; with an electronic sensor inside). Matching sensors held by CM's could detect whether guests had wristbands without the need to get up close. It would then be easier for only those guests without wristbands to be individually reminded of park closing.

The problem is the times on the DIsney website have been WRONG. They act like the park doesn't do that hour shut down where Disney drives the party guests one way and everyone else out of the park That's where this rumor started. However, the folks on www.mouselplanet.com contacted Disney a few weeks ago and confirmed that the times are wrong and it's a computer upgrade issue. The park will close for the hour and the people will be herded as before.

I am voiting with mouseplanet. They actually produce WDWToday

Wll Respected Touring Site says his sources confirm that the hours are correct and that the park is not closing until 7.

I knew there was a reason I don't like this event.

I went over to Mouseplanet. Turns out the event they posted the correction on was the Christmas Party (which I love)

I would suggest that those of you going to the Halloween Party contact guest relations and ask them WHY you paid extra if everyone gets to stay!

every park hopper ticket holder at Disney World would jump over to MK at the right time and stay for the night activities. I sure would do it. I think that would be a nightmare. You would have loads of people coming in from the other three parks. Disney couldn't stop the park hoppers, etc.

I hope this isn't coming from people who stay at MK for the day and feeling they are not getting their money's worth; because, the park is closing early. You have the choice of not going to the park that day.

I will say in past years there has been a fireworks show for the regular day crowd and then those people would leave; unless, they had tics for the Halloween party. Without having a fireworks show now for the day crowd that may be what's stirring the pot, here.

Also, there are plenty of MNSSHP ticket holders who love to come early at 4pm even though the party doesn't start until 7pm. Maybe, the day guests are getting annoyed that the party goers can come early, but they can't stay later.

Personally, I'm using a park ticket for 2 hours on 9/29 (arrival day) to go to AK and then we will head over to MK for the Halloween party. I would of never done another park if I could stay for the Halloween party and be at MK all for the same park day admission there.

I'm like everyone else and paid for the party. I feel the two main events, the parade and fireworks are the main reasons I go to the Halloween Party. I sure don't want to compete for space with everyone else besides the party ticket holders. That stinks if it happens. It would be strike one for me against Disney. I'm a seasoned visitor there (over twenty trips) and that's not going to set well with me if the regular day admission people are allowed to stay.

Sadly it seems as though they are planning the same thing for the Christmas party. Only worse. They are going to have an early showing of Wishes, since it will be plenty dark enough in December for that. So not only are they not closing they are actually having an event that will encourage people to stay!

i've sent an e-mail as well (i'm REALLY ticked about this-it was supposed to be a surprise for my daughter's 9th birthday!) and will post the response i get, if any.
