What do you do to make non stop flights more pleasant? That is, other than flying 1st or business class. We're too cheap for that. I'd rather get to fly to 3 or 4 different destinations than take (1) 1st class flight. Anyway, my DH & I flew non stop from Charlotte, NC to San Diego, CA & back in Apr. We were barely able to walk, when we finally landed. About half way through the flight my DH said, "Never again." He was so wishing we had a stop in Texas. :p We thought it was too long to sit in a hard seat w/o walking around. I'm hoping to talk him into Hawaii soon, which would mean even longer w/o moving around. So, what do you guys do to make longer flights more pleasant on the tush? :teeth:

My suggestion is to get aisle seats. That way you can get up & walk a bit during the flight.

The last time we flew to Vegas, a non-stop flight from Philly, there was a woman who, as soon as the seatbelt light went off, walked up and down the aisle the ENTIRE flight! I don't know why, she may have been afraid to fly or couldn't sit long, but she's the only person I know who can say that they walked from Philly to Las Vegas! :)

We would rather fly non-stop, we want to get there! I have to get up, at least once, to go to the bathroom.

You don't have to sit in your seat the entire flight. You're allowed to get up and walk around. Granted you're not going far, but it's better to do that than sit there for over five hours!

Thanks for the suggestions. :) I have a deteriorating spine & arthritis on my pelvic bones. I can totally understand why that woman walked the entire flight. I've been tempted, but wouldn't subject fellow passengers to that. The funny thing is my DH whined more than I did, & he's perfectly healthy. :rolleyes1 Maybe, we'll try 2 aisle seats next time. We had those & switched to sit together. Go figure.

The lady caused no problems to the other passengers. She just moved out of the way if someone had to get by. Nobody was complaining about her, that I heard. Get the aisle seat and go, it really wasn't a problem.
