Non-stop Driving

We did 1130 miles from Dallas to Orlando without stopping overnight. DH and I switched off driving and sleeping while the kids slept. We will never do it again. I woke up at about 3 am to find us in the parking lot of a chuch, everyone in the car was sound asleep. DH had been driving and just couldn't stay awake, so he pulled off the highway to rest. He said, "I figured we'd be safe in a church parking lot" It was so grueling, and it took us a day to recover from it. Just not worth it for us. On our drive home we planned a hotel stay and it was much better.

What is the longest any of you have driven to get to WDW without stopping for the night? I realize you would stop for gas, food and breaks, but how many miles or hours of driving have you done?

20 hours/ four drivers. Thought it would take longer. We left at 10 am, pulled in o hotel at almost exactly 6am. We would have left later, after a drive like that we all wanted ashower and had to wait a while.

14 hrs from Memphis to Orlando. One driver but my wife would drive if I would let her. I do from time to time but I enjoy driving. We have 2 kids and never had any problems. We leave around 3 am and get to Disney about 6 pm eastern. Check in, go to Downtown Disney eat and hit the hay so to make it at rope drop the next morning.

We have done the almost 1000 mile on the nose trip at least 10-15 times since 1997(thats when i met my wife!!!) Usulally leave around 3 pm and make it here around 7am with minimal stops. Its really bad when someone as you what route you take and you can rattle of all the highways in order and tell them exactly where you sgould be in 8,10,12 hours etc.
always a worth while trip down. always the longest drive of my life going home!!! we have flown the last few years with some good deals from SW but airfare is rising again and driving is much cheaper for 4 of us.
