Kudos to DCL...they are trying out a non-smoking policy in Wavebands!!
For years, I have had to cut my visits there short due to the poor ventilation and bad separation of smoking/non-smoking sections (you could be in "non"-smoking and have a table of smokers right behind you). I don't mean this as a cut on smokers; that club is just not set up to have well-separated sections. I mainly go there for shows (i.e. Match Your Mate, 70s and 80s parties), and I always hoped DCL would ban smoking during showtimes. Now, on the Wonder, is is banned in Wavebands completely!! I believe you can still smoke in Diversions at certain times...not sure about Cadillac, and I don't know if this is happening on the Magic too.
I think it is just being tested out, so if you are pleased with this change, please let DCL know. I have always applauded them for having a good balance between smokers and non-smokers needs. RCCL's ships absolutely reek of smoke, but on DCL there are lots of areas for smoking and also plenty where non-smokers can avoid it if they choose. For those who want a quick cigarette, you can go up one deck and step outside on 4...very convenient from the club.
Please do not turn this thread into a debate on smoking/non-smoking. I simply want to communite this new policy.
