Non-perscription Medication ?

I remember reading somewhere that all medications (non-perscription and over the counter) must be kept in their original box/bottle. From a common sense point of view this makes sense. Did I make this up? Is there something online that states this about medications? I need to show my Mom, who was planning on taking her vitamins/medications/herbs out of the packages because it would take up less room. I would hate for her to do this (even though I told her not to) and get everything taken away or worse, arrested for drug smuggling.
