Non-Partisan Thoughts About Vice-President Cheney

Wow, my 11 year old too!

Of course her common sense analysis of the issue and how important is to the real world was that when the Vice President of the United States shoots someone in the face after consuming alcohol, then waits to let the media know, then has his buddies blame the victim --is a major story and Cheney should resign.

You should be VERY proud of YOUR 11 year old! :thumbsup2

Neither? I'm glad you have the power over life and death but the man still has a pellet IN his heart, he is 78, and they said he is not fully recovered. Let's hope he makes it, but he is not out of the woods yet. Neither is Cheney!

While Mr. Wittington may not be fully out of the woods, VP Cheney is clearly out of the woods. Most Americans feel it was an accident and its time to move on.

Then this is an excellent time to teach your child that an adult can have a beer, hours earlier and in no way be impaired and that the situation required obtaining emergency help, informing law enforcement and NOT the media at large.

Gee, thanks for your parenting advice. But based on your opinions about everything else...I'll pass on the advice.

Cheney HAD his secret service WITH him hunting! No logistics problem. The authorities would have asked him for the details at the hospital, as hospitals MUST report ALL shootings! Ah! A test for alcohol! Hmmmmmmmm Maybe it is something else he is hiding, maybe it isn't too much booze. The Republican Party themselves are mad about the way this was announced. Maybe you should be too. So according to your logic IF Cheney's FRIEND dies he will be charged with criminally negligent homicide? Let's not forget he didn't have the proper license and mistook a man for a quail. Negligent at the least! Now if you mistook Cheney for a bird, well.....

But the authorities didn't have to ask him for details at the hospital because he made himself available where he was. The hospital is required to report the shooting but he had already reported it so it wasn't necessary for him to go to the hospital. I know that you are hoping for a conspiracy theory and I know that the left is hoping that Mr. Wittington dies but it won't happen this week. Given his advanced age however, he is bound to die in the next several years and no doubt, someone somewhere will blame his future death on this incident. Now on to the proper license. No doubt, if he had paid that $7 in advance, this accident wouldn't have occurred. Is that what you are attempting to say?. :rotfl:

And the vice president of the United States, showing up at a local hospital with his secret service entourage wouldn't have been disruptive to say the least? You have got to be kidding. :rotfl:

Puffy2 Cheney SHOOTS A MAN IN THE FACE and he isn't even allowed to be questioned by local police until the next day. No drug test said:
The Sheriff came to investigate at the time the sheriff suggested. In fact, he wanted to come at 10 am. and VP Cheney requested that he come at 8 am. To believe your scenario would be to suggest that all those witnesses are lying. However, if they really believe that the vice president was lighting up his bong back at the ranch, the THC levels would have still be available the next day. In fact, they are still 'available' now. Perhaps you could write to the VP and ask him to pee in a cup....just to put your mind at ease.

I don't necessarily think that people should just "get over it". It never hurts to take a close look at the actions of authority figures because they represent us and make decisions for us, and I would personally never want anyone questionable in that position. We then should decide if any further investigation is warranted.

Bringing up the activities of other individuals has no bearing on the activities of the Vice President. This event should be examined and then set aside if no further investigation seems warranted. JMO.

If you were looking for a serious analysis of the incident, you should have stopped after reading the original post, but you're still here.

The OP was very clear to make this a joke throughout, making fun of the vice president.

Making the Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton analogies is quite fitting, when taken in the context of wrong doing that goes unpunished.

If you don't want to hear about true criminal behavior by public officials, I suggest you refrain from opening these types of threads.

Wow your 11 year old too what?

In your hatred for anything conservative you have chosen to ignore:

alcohol consumption is not an issue, alcohol intoxication is what you want to say; not the same thing. Difference, Ted Kennedy was drunk when he killed Mary Jo, VP had one beer, several hours before incident= no level of intoxication.

Didn't wait to let the media know, told ranch owner to advise local, not national, media, which she did. Angry national media at being scooped by little locals.

The VP is responsible for what others say?? I think not.

Why didn't you tell her the truth, instead of letting her believe those falsehoods?

Cheney had one beer at lunch hours before, quickly notified authorities, notified the local press soon afterwards, and he took full responsibity for causing the injury and said it was his fault.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story, I guess. Just spread the irrational hatred (or near-hatred) some people have against our Vice President Cheney. :sad2:

Yes, follow the advice of your 11 year old.

Came up with an accurate analysis of the Vice President drinking beer and shooting someone in the face.

Clearly not only does this VP thinks he is above the law, for some strange reason many Americans are ok with that. It is NOT ok to treat elected officals or those who make more money or who have higher ranking jobs , differently than the average American when it comes to law.

as long as the VP didn't kill someone and then try and cover it up, you know, like Ted Kennedy, I'm really ok with it.

Accidents do happen. Hunting accidents do happen. Driving off a bridge and killing someone does happen. Leaving them for dead in the partially submerged vehicle for ten hours really shouldn't be tolerated in a civil society, but it has been.

Yes, follow the advice of your 11 year old.

The poster has -- just like all of us who believe it was an accident.

It's too bad some are still spouting nonsense about it being alcohol induced and followed by some conspiracy or cover-up, as if they were members of some "Cheney is evil" club.

Please explain the Ted Kennedy or Bill Clinton stories to your 11 year old (you can do it without the graphics on the Clinton story) and tell me how they respond.

Was the privledge afforded Ted Kennedy appropriate? Did he get away with murdering Mary Jo, as the investigators believe?

Is it ok to perjure yourself as Clinton did, regardless he subject matter? Never mind the acts in the oval office, you know, the cigar humidor trick, blue dress, etc.

I wait patiently for your response...

I think Mary Jo deserves justice. You see, no one has heard from her, she's dead. I don't we should ever get over what happened in the case.

We heard from the VP's victim, he acknowledged the incident as an unfortunate accident, and nothing more.

Umm.. wow. One 11 year old parrots what their parents believe and it's an accurate analysis. The other 11 year old parrots her families views and it's just plain parroting. "Polly want a cracker"??

When you put it all together, it makes so much sense. :lmao:
