I am considering a trip to the world....without going to the parks!! Am I crazy? I think it would be kind of fun and relaxing to do just the resorts, boardwalk, DTD, etc. My main problem would be the kids. I think my 19DS, 16DD, & 14DD would do o.k., but not sure about my 10DS. We have AP's to DLR, so I think they have had enough of DL/ DCA, but my DS10 says he wants to see Mission Space. It is ALOT of $$ for tix for 6 people, so I really can't justify buying passes for WDW while I still have the AP's for DLR. Any opinions? I guess I am just looking for anyones thoughts on the subject, good, bad or ugly! And any advice!!!TIA!!!:wave2:

Yes... LOL

I don't think that a 10yo wants to go to WDW to relax and shop!

I would wait the DLR anual pass to expire and then plan WDW.

Even if you convince your son, I bet you'll get there and not be able to resist going to the parks or at least the Magic Kingdom! :D

If you really can't afford it, then maybe you should avoid WDW lest you leave upset at not being able to go to the parks.

I think I would be o.k with missing the parks, since we were just at DLR and spent 5 full days at those parks. The only one that I think would bother me is Epcot! I do love the WS. Maybe I will plan on 1 day at Epcot. That would cover me and my DS, plus we could eat a nice meal or 2! Thanks!::yes::

I just realized that both disers responding to my post were from other countries!!! I think is so great how we can correspond from around the world in a matter of minutes!!! I love the internet!:wave2:

We really tried to do a non-park visit last month, but we really love Epcot's World Showcase, so we planned one late-afternoon/early evening visit there, with dinner at Restaurant Marrakesh. Well, that turned into all morning at the Animal Kingdom (really love that one, too) and all afternoon and evening at Epcot. On our last day, we weren't being picked up by the limo until 9:45 PM, so we needed something to do....back to Epcot!

We're going to try again in October, but since we have Annual Passes, I doubt we'll succeed, since Epcot and Animal Kingdom will still be there!

Sorry scanmom, couldn't do it!! It's like being so close and yet so far!!! Not only for the kids, but for me!!!!! I'm the biggest 40 year old kid when I get near MK!!!! Good Luck!!!!:worship:

We are going in July to do Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon but no parks. My kids(7 & 10) are very excited about it. We went last summer and go every other year so they know we'll go back next year. We often go in December but went in June last year. We are looking forward to some cooler Disney fun at the water parks and Disney Quest. We go to all parks , Universal and Sea World on our "regular" trips and just can't seem to fit these other things in. So we are looking for a whole new experience this time. We will also visit Downtown Disney, do a dinner show and enjoy our offsite resort. My kids will be happy there just because there's apool. Could you possibly plan to visit a water park and or DQ. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo
