Non- Motion Seats On Mission Space

This really sounds like a good ride without the motion and I am hoping to take DS on it, any news on non-motion seats?

I know I read here about the seats on Star Tours and when I asked there we just had to come back at a certain time to ride. Worked out great.

I don't think non-motion seats are possible for M:S. The ride is actually a centrifuge, with the cabin attached to an arm that spins and provides the takeoff and weightless sensations. It MIGHT be possible to just view the film without the cabin moving, but that would take all four cabins offline as the arms are linked to a central point. Worth a shot to ask though!

I was going to write the same thing that phillybeth wrote (great minds think alike, I guess ).
The reason they can do it on Star Tours and Body Wars is that each cabin/theater car is independent. So, they can make just one of the cars just operate with the movie or not operate at all. Also, the ride car holds a lot of people and (from what I know), they are often not operating the ride at full capacity.
Since each ride car at MS only holds 4 people, the number of people riding at each ride cycle is not that large (which translates into long waits). So, it's not likley that they will take the whole ride "off-line" to do a non- motion trip.
If they say "no" now, you might want to try asking again some time. Maybe after the initial rush is off, they will. Or, maybe, if enough people ask, they will set up a permanent non-motion car in a small area for those who want to the experience without the motion.(I can dream anyway).

Well, I can understand it much better now. Maybe we will get lucky and can offer non-motion at the beginning or end of the day (that's when I was told they could do it at ST) like Sue I can dream can't I
