OK, so my MIL is giving for a very small cost her expiring points this year to my husband and his brother, for our week in July. She booked 2 AKV studios - our room is on 2 linked confirmation #s (4 nights + 3 nights) and my BIL's room for the whole week (1 confirmation #).

So I have the confirmation #'s, and I know I can't go on the DVC website to check on them, but should be able to go to the www.mydisneyreservation.com - dvc site to check on them. The problem is that the only confirmation # that will pull up is the first reservation with our 1 studio/4 nights. When I look at the itinerary details, it says "The itinerary information above may not be complete. Please refer to your reservation confirmation for complete details.". The other confirmation #s just give me an error message saying it doesn't match any information in their files.

So.....it's not that I don't trust my MIL or anything....but I like seeing our plans in writing myself. Is the mydisneyreservation.com site usually accurate? Is it not pulling up the other reservations because they are linked in some secret-squirrel fashion to the first 4 night reservation, that the website can't show? Should my MIL be getting anything in the mail that she should be forwarding onto us? I have to cancel our original cash reservations at CSR, but am hesitant to do so before having a hard (i.e. with-my-own-eyes) confirmation of the AKV rooms.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Best to have this conversation with your MIL and tell her the error message you are getting so she can call MS and double check details. I think 3 night reservation is there; I just don't think it is linked in the sense most consider reservation to be linked and that would be if you had a number of nights in your studio on points and then the rest of the nights in your studio for cash booked through MS ( or if points were used from one Home Resort for beginning x amount of days and then additional nights booked with other HR's points ); in these cases MS would link 2 reservations to make it seamless and to try to eliminate changing rooms. These sound like maybe they are 2 separate studio reservatiions but I can't say for sure. DVC will mail your MIL confirmation letter; ask her to forward that to you when she receives.

Not sure who told you you should be able to go to another disney website to check on a DVC reservation. I don't believe that is true.

it's www.mydisneyreservation.com - I believe it's the online check-in site for all disney resort hotels. It asks how you made your reservation and has an option for DVC. It let me pull up one of my confirmation #'s, so it's obviously connected to the DVC system.

I think you are best off asking your MIL to call and check on it and to see if they reservation numbers are "linked". If they aren't, she could easily do that for you now to avoid you having to move in the middle of your trip.

DVC takes second seat when it comes to websites, not that Disney's websites work really well.

DVC is actually using the Disney website software and there are problems. http://www.mydisneyreservations.com/dvc should display DVC reservations but it doesn't always work.

I have had some reservations display properly and others don't. Linked reservations will only display the first reservation because the Disney software doesn't recognize the link. You might try entering the reservations separately and see if that works.

The same issues exist with the online check in software. It hints that you can enter requests but in reality the Disney software doesn't recognize DVC requests.

Thanks so much - this makes me feel better that all is well and it's a computer problem! She did tell me that our split reservations were linked and the DVC Mbr services person told her we wouldn't have to move, but that didn't explain why my BIL's separate confirmation # wasn't coming up. But I will trust her (for at least a little longer) and politely ask about a paper confirmation in another week or so....:)
