Non-members blatantly using facilities

Ok maybe this would work. After getting confirmation from said perp, that he is indeed a pond skum sucking low life that believes in using things other paid dearly to have, for free, we approach the management on duty.

Be sure to go to highest possible person, no need to involve the lowers who will have no authority to act and say, "please remove this person from my paid property, or I will simply go back out to the pool and very loudly ask all within hearing distance of my shouting, do they think people who do not pay to be DVC or resort guests be allowed to use this pool?"

When everyone shouts absolutely not, simply point to the perp and say here he is and Disney does not care.

That might actually work. ;)

Disclaimer: make sure said perp is smaller than you. :thumbsup2

:lmao:

I got your back Sammie! They'll probably be too tired from jumping the fence to get in to cause you any real damage anyway:laughing:

That's our favorite past time at SAB, the lazy river and watching the fence hoppers. We did tell our server, that we watched an entire family climb the fence (Mom, Dad and grown kids!) but I had 1 too many blue margarita's to get all confrontational;) and besides, what a buzz kill that would be!

It does tick you off though!

I love it when you pop back in from time to time, Sammie. Welcome Home.

The only way Disney will ever stop this is if everyone writes to Disney and complains not just post on this board. So everyone please send Disney a email every time you see this happen. Disney should care more about the guest who pay the bills and follow the rules and not the people that are trespassing and stealing from them and us!

The people ultimately to blame are the folks who trespass to use facilities they have not paid for. Just because Disney does not actively engage in enforcement does not make the actions of these people OK. What a nice example they are setting for their children too.

As for Disney, they need to hear from the upright folks who follow the rules that Disney's failure to protect us takes some of the magic out of our vacations. Perhaps when we see Disney failing to enforce the rules we should approach the manager of the resort and demand some of our money back since they allow folks to use for free the facilities we paid for. If enough folks did that there would be a change. The mouse only understands money.

I emailed Disney and sent a link to this thread. This problem is the fault of the people that break the rules, but Disney shares the blame because it allows it to happen and does nothing to stop it!

Are you suggesting that neither of these things are okay?

Just to clarify, when I said go, I meant pee.;)

So no, I don't think it's okay to pee in the pool or the bathtub. That's just wrong in so many levels!:scared:

:lmao:

So, what exactly would be the address to send Disney an email about this or other park concerns/ reports?

I too would have reported them to a CM or manager. Whether I'm paying $100s of dollars per night or I own at DVC (which I do) I've paid for the privilege of using the facilities & I don't appreciate others just waltzing in off the street & using it for free. Disney should step up & enforce the rules. These people are not potential customers, they're freeloaders. Very bad form IMHO. :sad2:

If I have been following all this correctly, we have some varying views on what to do about interlopers at the pools:

1. Interlopers should be reported or punched out (option goes to discoverer of interloper). On the other hand, interlopers should not be reported because they might shoot you or they might be larger than you and punch you out. Loud and drunk interlopers (or even members) should be summarily executed. If you discover an interloper, you should stand up, point at him, and shout for all to hear, "I know you. You're that pedophile whose picture I saw on TV." You should toss live electrical devices into the pool when interlopers are within. It takes only about 30 seconds, while an interloper is in the pool, to gather up the belongings he has left on the chair and do him the favor of protecting them from theft by tossing them in the nearest garbage can.

2. Disney should be more proactive in dealing with interlopers. Suggested methods: (a) adopt a barbed-wire fence and key sytem for all pools and throw in some land mines near the fence to prevent climbing; (b) have interlopers arrested, dragged off in hand-cuffs, and seek the death penalty for trespass; (b) CM's should taser known interlopers; (c) have vicious guard dogs trained to attack anyone without a room key; (d) make adult interlopers wear swim diapers; (e) make interlopers ride Small World 65 times in a row.

Now if we can just get Disney to agree.

Doesn't this same thing happen all the time on the buses? People parking at a resort and taking the bus to the park? In the early days of DVC, we were always asked to show our key card before boarding. That hasn't happened to us in years.

I vote for (b)

disney has always had a problem with offsite guests using the pools.

even back in 1983.

my big complaint against CBR - we got back after a day at the parks and got in the pool next to my building. there was a bunch of people there. They say it was a private party and I would have to leave. Well say that I will call front desk because was not notified.

they all got up and left - they were locals.

so they not only break the rules, but will lie to get you to leave.

Disney has hired security guards - if the security guards allow anyone in the resorts and they mostly do. then they need to be notified that only guests are allowed in the resorts. Nobody lies better than a con man.

but hey some of us who visit other resorts would not like that at all. neither would the resort - they would lost money in the restuarants and gift shops.

so disney has learned to live with it.

that say if you are really bothered by it - definitely complain to WDW and DVC. that is how SALB was closed off - too many complaints from guests. and they had reason too many guests (staying offsite) were walking over from Epcot and using that pool. when disney only started to hand out towels to their guests only - these people would stop at the quiet pool and get towels. they knew what they were doing was wrong. but they did it anyway.

now these people just go to BW instead of BC.

would think that the Polyn would be the next one. hey it is just a monrail ride away - and visiting the MK - why not....

some of us would object and do. but too many people think that a ticket to the parks is a ticket to anything they want to do and that the rules don't apply to them.
