non expiring childrens ticket question

We have purchased a non expiring 5 day park hopper with plus visits for our 9 YO son. My question is, what happens when he turns 10? Do we have to pay more for him, or can he still use his original non expiring ticket, even though when we bought it, he was under child pricing guidelines? We do not plan to use all of the visits on this trip. Has anyone ever had this happen with their childrens tickets? What did you do?

Disney has been consistently generous in upgrading such partially used passes to adult passes. I wouldn't expect it, but so far they've done it every time, as far as I've read.

That's their polocy.
It would be hard to sell "non-expiring, non-transferable" tickets if they won't honor them when a child returns in a few years.

Yes, they COULD "up-charge" for the now-older child, but they choose to welcome the child back to Disney.

We found 2 days left on a child's pass that was from the 80's. DS is now over 21 yo, but he took it to WDW anyways and went to the gate of 2 parks. Both parks stamped the pass and let him in. This was before the biometrics and he didn't use FP, so he never had to go to GR. And they never asked for any documentation (I even had our hotel confirmation from the 80's with me, just in case).
