Non EMH Park - day before EMH . . . or day after?

OK, all this talk on the boards about EMH and I'm helping my sister and her 3 boys plan their trip in August - they haven't been to WDW in over 10 years and they really need a break from a horrendous year - so no commando touring in my plan (they are all very tired and stressed and need to sleep until at least 8AM;) )!

What've been your experiences with non-EMH park - better to do the day before EMH or the day after EMH for that park? Do the guidebooks still recommend doing the day after - is everyone not doing EMH going the day after now? Would it be smarter to do the day before?

Thanks for any input - my family gets to visit more often and off season lately, so when we do go to EMH it's been great and we leave that park by 11 AM to spend the day in a less crowded park - last trip going the day after EMH worked well, too, but we were there in January and crowds were very low anyway - trying to help them see as much as they can and still enjoy themselves!!:smooth:

Hmmmm....good question. We've been debating this ourselves, too.

The very latest research we have from the Magic Kingdom (April 2004) shows very little variation in the peak wait times from Sunday through Tuesday, which includes an EMH day on Sunday. The day with the highest wait times was Tuesday, but it was only about 5 minutes higher than the other days, so that may not mean much, especially with a small sample.

I think it's safe to say that the season you're going (summer) will have more impact on the wait times than the particular day. But if I had to guess at good days to visit the MK, it'd be Friday and Wednesday. Wednesday because it's Epcot's EMH day, and Epcot is the second-most visited park in WDW, so you'd expect more people to be headed there (meaning there'd be fewer going to the MK). But that's just a hunch.

By the same logic, every other park should be lovely on Sundays and Thursdays, when the MK has EMH. Should anyone want to test this theory out, I'm willing to help.

Thanks, Len - I was recommending they go to MK on Weds, but if their Florida friends come to visit they'll have to go on Tues, since their Fla friends will only get a one day/one park pass and Tues is the only day for Spectro - I know it will be most crowded because of that, but they are determined to see that park with their friends.

Thanks, rrpesek - look forward to hearing your experience with a Weds. visit !
