I'm staying at WDW as a non-driving Virgin-has anyone done this and whats everyone's experiences of the drop-off/pick-up from the hotel?-I mean, will it take about 4 hours to get to the hotel when I arrive and will I be picked up HOURS before need to check in to go home? :moped: (Maybe I should try this instead!)

Airport transfers can take a while, especially the transport makes multiple drops are various hotels.

There are a few alternatives though.

If you are staying in WDW you can take advantage of the Disney Magic Express. You need to sign up with Disney and they send you special luggage tags. Your cases will then be taken direct to your Disney hotel, while you get on the Disney transport.

The other way is using a Towncar Transfer. You are greated in the airport baggage claim by your driver and then your driven direct to your hotel (via a grocery stop if required) - very nice way to arrive :) You can even upgrade to a limo!

Check out the FLTours website for details of Towncar/Limo transfers:

:Pinkbounc Hi, virgin usually give you a pick-up time for departure as soon as you arrive in orlando. The rep at the airport gives you your pick up time-usually a good fwe hours before check in.So don't worry ,you'll be fine :Pinkbounc

We are non driving virgins and always use a towncar or limo service to and from our hotel.

Much better that waiting round for a bus IMO

We have used Quicksilver for the last couple of years and found them to be efficient and reliable

Ive always used the transfers and they have been great, if you stay onsite you dont drop off at many hotels (only 1 or 2) so it doesnt take long to get there. At the end you can check in at DTD and then you have most of the day to do last minute things.

We did this a few years back with Virgin. It went so smooth I can't remember the transfer so it must have been good as you only remember the bad things!!!

We are deciding not to use a car in Dec, we thought it was not worth the insurance money, we drove 4 times and paid £420.

We stay on site as well, so we thought we would use a transfer.

Has anyone done a transfer from Sanford.

Last year we flew Thomsons into sanford and transferred down by Mears, the transfer took a lot longer than from MCO but as we were through immigration etc so quick compared to Mco it was worth it!

Thats what we were thinking.

Sanford is further away, but clearing immigration is much faster.

Deep down i think i prefer Sanford airport, even when coming home. I think the reason is it is smaller, and there is the guest house which you can pay for, and have some piece and quiet and of course the free drink!!!!
