Non-disney resort question

I apologize if this has been asked before- my sister and I will be staying off-site, are we permitted to enter the GF and look around if we are thinking about staying there on our next trip.? Do we have to have dining reservations or know someone staying there? She is flying in from England, and has never seen this beautiful resort, I'd love to show her around, but don't want to get in trouble! Thanks in advance!

You absolutely can walk around and check out any of the resorts without knowing someone there or eating there. One of our favorite things to do is check out the other resorts.

Be aware if you are driving a car and you don't have an ADR, you will have to pay for parking. If you've driven your car and already paid for parking at one of the parks, just take bus/monorail/boat.

I suggest it's easiest to make a swing by the GF as a break from a day in the MK - just grab the resort monorail from in front of the MK (or the boat to the GF) and get off at the GF - check out the shops, walk around the grounds, sit in the lobby and listen to the piano player, or the band or whatever is happening for a bit. The regular elevators won't let you go to the non public club room areas, as they require a special keycard. The birdcage elevator is open for anyone.
Another great resort to stop buy and have a look see is AKL - Jambo house.
