We are coming to the World in the Middle of October but will be arriving and staying off site for a Saturday before Checking in on Sunday to the Poly. We were trying to figure out a fun thing to do with some friends who will also be staying offsite for the evening.

We were thinking about Medieval Times? Any other ideas? We will have 4 adults and a 10 yr old boy, 5 year old girl, 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl.

Have you been to Downtown Disney? It's a great way to get in the Disney mood, there are lots of restaurant options and you don't need tickets. I love Earl of Sandwich for a quick dining option and House of Blues for a sit down restaurant. Lots to do for the entire family.

I have to second this. It's my favorite thing to do when we are not in the park. The Lego store alone will keep the kids content for awhile. So much fun just walking around and so many places to take pix of the kids! Many restaurants to eat and stores to shop.

Definitely been to Downtown Disney and agree it is a great place and Earl of Sandwich is wonderful. We were looking for something a little different this trip.

I am not sure that Howl at the Moon would be excitted with my 2 and 5 year old but I do love going there when I used to go to Cincy a lot. Great Bar.

Personally, I am not thrilled with Old Town. But my husband and kids love it! There's also plenty of Mini Golf places. Always good for a few laughs.

Medieval Times was the first think I thought of when I opened this thread. I don't think you can go wrong there. However, I would grab a coupon or two. It's not worth it full price. However, there are a number of half price coupons out there.

Here is my list of fav non-Disney things to do that do not cost too much:
- visit a state park during the day. Only $6 entry and a nice chill day
- play mini golf
- go to old town on friday or Saturday night
- go to downtown universal
- go to beach for the day
- relax by the pool

:cool1:

What about a luau at one of the places like Sea World?

That's what we've been thinking about :)..
