Non Disney Good Restaurants

I'm assuming you'll have a car. :)

What kind of food do you like? Do you want to avoid chain restaurants?

I have always liked the Tony Roma's on Harbor. They closed the restaurants in my city and we normally go now when at DL. Reasonable. Good BBQ. Lots of food. Close to the DLR.

If you want truly fine dining, I have heard wonderful things about the Anaheim White House, but I have never been there myself.

You can never go wrong with midieval times! Its one town over in buena park, right off of beach blvd. All of 2 or 3 exits north on hwy 5. Great dinner theatre! amazing food! the soup is delicious!

Yes we have a car and 3 kis (9,7,3). We'll be staying at Hojo's. My kids likes buffet because they get tired of typical kid's menu food. Hometown buffet sounds great (checked on the website).

Chain restaurant is fine with us. However, for Christmas day (that's the time we're going. We want to have a nice dinner. Any suggestions for Christmas dinner?

I have heard no feedback at all on Anaheim White House, but have seen them on restaurant.com for discounts.

Anaheim Restaurant is hugely expensive. Have a search on the website for them. We booked Goofy's Kitchen for Xmas dinner this time around.

Mr. Stox down Katella is really really nice. I don't know how kid-friendly they are...or if they'll do a special Christmas dinner, but my boyfriend I and really enjoyed them, the service is excellent, and the food delicious!!

Are you planning on going to the parks ON Christmas Day? Just a hint if you leave the parks you may not get back in. So keep that in mind when planning your meals.

We are going at this time too. We will be in the parks both Christmas Day and New Years Eve. Call us CRAZY!

Google Anaheim Gardenwalk, you'll find plenty of good restaurants there. I thikn tho if I was going to be in DL on Christmas Day I would eat inside the parks. Maybe at Napa Rose or at Blue Bayou.

We are going the same time also!! Christmas to NYE. Is it really crowded those days? Is it better to eat in the restaurants in the park so we can just stay for the evening? Is it better to go CA than DL on Christmas day?

Is Hometown Buffet similar to Old Country Buffet or Royal Fork?
Hometown Buffet is the same company as Old Country Buffet.

It is CRAZY crowded these days and they often times will restrict entry to varying degrees throughout the day. If you plan on being there in the evening it is best to stay. On New Years Eve especially DO NOT LEAVE if you plan to be there for the countdown.

I prefer Bucas. It's an Italian flavored restaurant, great service, great prices, and you gotta go down Harbor. Then you can just run back up Harbor to get back to Disneyland area. It's also near some hotels as well, Embassy Suites, Double Tree, etc.

We will also be at DL for Christmas and I am worried about the crowds that day, so we booked Minnie and Friends for breakfast as it is actually in the parks. Even to go to Goofy's or Napa Rose you have to leave the parks and go to the hotels, thus risking getting shut out when you try to go back after you eat. We are having brunch and then will eat counter service later in the day as we are having our big special meal at Storyteller's on Christmas Eve. However, the Plaza Inn is also serving Prime Rib for lunch and dinner on Christmas, so if you want the more traditional meal later in the day but want to stay in the park, that might be an option for you.

How is Catal restaurant? I got a recommendation. Although Christmas menu was expensive. Or Jazz Kitchen? Is it better to avoid DL on the Christmas day and go to CA?
