Our next trip to DLR falls on DF's birthday, so I'm trying to make it extra special. I've already ordered something to be delivered to our room, but I was really interested in ordering a cake to surprise her at dinner. Unfortunately, the regular and princess cakes I've been able to find information on are too big (It's just the two of us.) The individual jewelry box cake would be the right size, but most people seem to say the cake itself was sub-par.

Does anyone know if they would deliver any other treats for a birthday dinner? I'd love to have it be one of our favorite treats, like ice cream or a caramel apple, but even a dessert from the regular menu with a candle in it would be awesome. Has anyone ever done that?

Where are you eating dinner? If you note on the reservation that it's a birthday and order dessert it should come out with a candle. You can always excuse yourself to the restroom earlier in the meal and ask to make sure.

Or you could just order the smallest cake they offer (not the princess bucket/treasure chest) and either take the extra back to your room or invite another table over to share it.

We're eating the first night there at Carthay Circle, and that's where I was hoping to surprise her. Because I want it to be a surprise, I wanted to set something up in advance rather than just ordering dessert and hoping it came with a candle. Because it's just the two of us, it's harder to be sneaky.
