Non-AP Ticket Holders and New Park Reservations System-INFO POST #76

It's a blanket email for everyone with existing hotel reservations and tickets that they can park reservations starting Monday 6/22 regardless of travel dates
Which I have not gotten yet. I have a reservation for November of this year and have an AP not activated yet. Is that why I haven't gotten an email telling me I can book on Monday?

Check your junk folder
You haven't got an email because there's no rhyme or reason how the computer picks to send emails

I asked about this via email query a couple of weeks ago. The WDW help person responded that a 6-day PH (my existing linked ticket) could be used any six days of my choice up to 9/26/21. The usual time limit of nine days, starting and including the first day of use, would not apply. In all honesty, I am still not sure I believe that, even though they said it. If my late August trip comes together, I will check again at the Disney Springs ticket center.

Others have reported hearing the same thing from CMs. We may be able to figure out if this is true on Monday, if people are able to make two sets of park reservations. For instance if someone has an eight day ticket and is able to make four park reservation days in August and then four park reservation days in November, that would seem to imply the tickets would be good.

I respectfully diasagree. They are choosing to cater to offsite guests over onsite guests.

How are they 'catering' to offsite guests?

As an offsite guest with single day park tickets purchased before all the announcements, I'm LAST in line to make a park reservation.....just barely before they reopen to new ticket sales. I'm definitely not feeling as if I'm getting preferential treatment.

You are getting preferential treatment of those with on-site reservations(like this person has) who have not purchased tickets yet and Disney has not said when they will be able to purchase tickets. So even with an on-site reservation they have been moved to the bottom of the list.

We got lucky and I purchased the military tickets right before they stopped selling them or we would be in the same boat with our August trip so I understand the frustration. It does not make sense that Disney would let off-site guests with tickets book park reservations before those actually staying on property.

Ditto...Nov. reservation, non activated salute tickets and still no email. Checked the spam folder as well.

I just looked at my tickets in my package reservation for my trip Oct 22-30. On MDE, it says on each of my tickets "Valid 10/30".....I hope that means valid thru the 30th, because our trip package starts on the 22nd!

we went through this yesterday and would love to keep this thread argument free
Disney told everyone they would NEED a ticket to go into the parks in their May 27th announcement.. Even before that there were rumors from people who usually don't lie that tickets would be required. On the 27th and the days after people could've bought tickets from 3rd party vendors, many did and posted here.
There's no special treatment on anyone.
You have to see the parks now as being at capacity the whole time. Follow the tiers of capacity, people without a park ticket are last on that tier. Again, do you think Disney is happy not making money by selling tickets and resorts reservations?

Absolutely.

Also, another thought. If someone is getting so worked up and frustrated regarding going this year, why not just NOT go this year and let everything iron out? No sense going to WDW if you're extremely frustrated before even stepping on the grounds!

I think the biggest problem are people with DVC reservations that can't cancel without losing the points, or at least that's what I've gathered.

And just to add Disney has said that they will reopen ticket sales for this year "later" they are going to look into the opening, see how people are behaving with the rules, hope that people actually wear mask and social distance so the numbers can start trending down and then they will have more capacity to play with and will be able to open ticket sales again

Exactly. And Pete put it perfectly during the recent park reservation livestream. He said the success of all of this is "UP TO US". If people are paying attention and following the rules, it ruins it for everyone. It's a pretty simple concept, but unfortunately that poses a lot of difficulty for some people. Only time will tell!

Waiting to hear how they will handle to Park Hopper issue. We have a 4 day PH ticket. We did buy it months ago from UT. We go end of Aug. Will they give us a credit/ refund. Guess we see how this reservation system works .

What is the difference between a one day and a PH day? Anyone know?

Correct. You can only book the Park Pass for people with Resort AND tickets on Monday. We have a large group going in October, rescheduled from April and only a few of us have tickets, so we are crossing our fingers that we can all be in the park on the same day. But with the Virus and guidelines, who knows if we will even all be allowed to hang out like we have the past 4 years...
and what about my trip for December, where my kids have tickets but they're a different date than our resort reservation? Can I make those on Monday?

and I read somewhere that I can add my cousin's ticket on Wed since it's a 2021 resort reservation...

Disney can't help you with third party tickets, you have to contact UT

Didn`t the kids' tickets get extended to 9/26/2021? Most tickets were (a couple of ticket types were not - FL Res Discover ticket and something else).

On 6/24 folks can upgrade room-only reservations for 2021 to packages with tickets. Individual 2021 tickets go on sale 6/28. Unfortunately, 2020 tickets will not be available immediately. WDW indicated "later" once they see how things are going.
