Hopefully his bat and glove will be of continued help in the coming weeks. A single, an RBI and some good fielding today. He received a very nice welcome.

Definately a welcome addition. I was sorry to see that Maddox didn't get 300 today, but I saw on the news that he took himself out of the game. If he had stuck around to start the 7th, he might have done it but he placed the team before himself - now thats high class!

Dan,it was electric today.
i dont even think it compared to the playoffs last year.
something was in the air,his first at-bat it was like the parting of the red seas, the whole stadium stood at once.
we had our tickets for alittle over a month,we have been working the calendar getting tickets for the games we figured that Maddux could get 300.
needless to say it looks like its going to happen on the road.

anyway,it was a sight to see,Nomar looked like a little kid in a candy store with the smile on his face when the fans cheered for him the way they did.

lets hope he gets adjusted to the NL right away.

great to see his wife score a goal in the soccer game against China too.

Sigh:sad: .....that's nice....

But I feel like I did a few years ago rooting for The Colorado Avalanche and Ray Bourque to win the Stanley Cup. ;)

Ann--that's it EXACTLY.

I have had the opportunity to deal with Nomar on several occasions through work, and he has never been anything but gracious, polite, and so nice.

I wonder if the Nomar Bowl is moving to Chicago for next year???

We were glad Nomar wasn't here with Boston, but we are REALLY sorry the TWINS gave Mientkiewicz away for "prospect"!

Sorry Cubbies.....too little......too late........You'll never catch St. Louis......Maybe next year......

I have been a Red Sox fan for over 30 years BUT
I just may become a Cubs fan!! :(

I do wish Nomar and the CUBS great things and I'll be watching for them in the post season ::yes::

Ain't worried about the Cardinals - focusing on the wildcard. We will just let the genius Tony LaRussa worry about the Cards.

That's great to hear Dan. You've got a terrific guy there.

 :sad1:

well, it's the NL. Glad to hear that Nomar done good and got a nice welcome. Go Cubs.

Dan, why didn't Barrett give up #5?

I heard on the news last night that he will be. Barrett said something like "it means more to him than it means to me." They probally just did not have time to do it before the game.

Looks like he got out of Boston just in time to avoid the usual Red Sox collapse..Go Yankees !!!...
