We’re heading to Disney in 2 weeks and I just saw a video showing Nomad’s has a wait list now. I figured I’d check today and it shows as waitlist full for the day. Is this the norm right now? We love the relaxing vibe (and the churros) so I’m trying to plan it into our day.

Does anyone have experience with their waitlist? How soon does it usually fill up?

I've heard it fills up fast. If you're at AK for rope drop, get on the list ASAP and be willing to head there right when they call you.

Thank you. Do you know if the wait list starts as soon as the park opens? Or is it when the lounge opens? Im assuming it’s when the lounge opens but you never know.

This tells me I need to do a little research into the wait lists. lol

My family got on the list at high noon three weeks ago; they were about to hit a gift shop when they were called back. A terrific time.

I have been checking this same thing off and on recently. Currently now at 11:00 ET today it is at capacity. And it only opened an hour ago I believe.

I would assume that the wait list would open when the restaurant does but would also like someone to confirm.

Actually I just looked and it opens at 11. So right at 11 opening it is already at capacity? There must have been a decent line or they took names before opening?

I was there last week. The wait list opens at 11 when the restaurant opens. I wanted to eat there so I got there around 10:45 and a line was already starting to form. I was second in the line. I really hadn't intended to actually eat at 11 but hey I was there so I went ahead and got seated outside. By the time they opened at 11 the line was about to the place you turn left to go to Tiffins and on to Pandora if you are coming from park entrance.

So how does it work with the mobile wait list? could people trying to get on via their phone potentially get on the wait list faster than the people standing in line?

No mobile wait list as far as I know. You have to physically go there and sign up for wait list and they will text you when your time is ready.

There is absolutely a mobile waitlist. Navigate to AK in MDE and then choose dining and Nomad will be there. The last time I checked, the online waitlist opened when the lounge opened. This was true for all of the restaurants will a mobile wait list, but that may have changed. You used to be able to check even if you were not in the park, but I get a distance error now.

I just checked and could see the mobile wait list on my MDE app; it said (at 12:40ish) that the list was at capacity, but I was able to see it even though we're not in the park or even in FL. Scribbling notes in my planner for our August trip...

Just checked now on MDE for fun (our AK day will be on Father's Day), and there is a 45 minute wait... seems it changes throughout the day.

It fills up upon opening and you have to check back during the day. Often times it will stay full or will show an hour wait. Hidden gem no more sadly. I was at AK this past Tuesday and around 10:15 am there was already a line.

We had luck during Christmas and Spring Break getting in line about 10:45am. We've been rope dropping a few rides and then breaking at Nomad at open for years, but the cat is definitely out of the bag on this gem!

It could also be due to distancing/capacity limits. They can't let in as many people as they used to. I'm hoping in October we can just get a drink at an off-time, maybe around 3 and relax....hoping....

I have never been there. So they don’t take reservations, but you have to reserve a spot to get in?

Pretty much. We’ve never had a problem just walking in and getting a seat but it seems things have changed. It looks like we’ll have to plan on trying to join the waitlist or being there around open.

we would love to hit this later in the day.... so do we just check back over and over to see if it has openings or do they fill for the day and then that is it?

It was estimated 55 minutes mid-day on 4/25. Went there at the 55 minute mark and they said to wait and we got called us like 90 seconds later. They were super nice - but the food was abysmal (like under the heat lamp forever). I wish Disney would bit (bite) the bullet and start staffing appropriately b/c our kind server had like half a dozen tables.

When we got to the park - maybe 11 it was full. Just keep checking (I feel like this is the Dory-esque mantra these days).

How does the wait list work? I can't try from home. If I get a spot on the list, can I just go do something else until a certain time or a notification? With wait times so long right now, do they give you enough time to get back?
