NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

Dear Tracy, I KNEW without a doubt you would understand! You have such a wonderfully kind and generous heart and ARE my friend!!! I know you are incredibly busy yourself! How is the weather? Job? YOU!!!! I am looking forward to Christian's movie night, if Lisa continues to improve, this will be the first one she will fully be able to enjoy!

We need to change the fact you haven't seen American Legends...I wish you were here to partake in movie nights with us...I can hear your infectious laugh now!

Praying for you!
Judy, I am so grateful to be your friend!

I have been very busy at work, but I only have one week left before my vacation!! I am going to my friends wedding in Kelowna, BC. I am so excited, she was my roommate in University for 3 year. I am driving down, it's a long drive but I'm looking forward to it, and I have time to take my time and a few detours along the way.

I hope Lisa is feeling great for Movie night and you all have a fabulous night and weekend! Wish I was closer so I could join in the fun!

Even I'm not always responding I am always reading and praying. I really hope your dad does call if he's still feeling bad. Continued prayers for you and yours and everyone else who needs them.

As Judy already knows we have been trying for baby number 4 for the last few years and have had a few heart aches along the way. I don't know if anyone's noticed but I have a new ticker. It may not be for a trip but I think it's for something even more exciting!! We are 12 WEEKS PREGNANT with baby number 4!!!! I will admit that we were starting the process to do infertility treatments but before we could start any of it (expect for some blood work where they took 15 vials of blood!!!) we got pregnant on our own! If I can please continue to get some prayers to make sure we continue with a healthy pregnancy it would be greatly appreciated (we are due January 31, 2014).

Ok, I am going out of order again, but I have been sitting here for over and hour trying to get the DIS to cooperate with me and grinning like a fool You will see why!
Even I'm not always responding I am always reading and praying. I really hope your dad does call if he's still feeling bad. Continued prayers for you and yours and everyone else who needs them.

Sandra has finally felt as if she could share the news of the Baby!!!! I feel like I am going to be an Aunt again!! She has been through so MUCH to have this little one and had a lot of pain along the way. SO many prayers have been answered, now to have a happy, healthy pregnancy and baby is the big one! Sandra, you know how I feel, take care of YOU and I will be here when you can be. I can FINALLY say publicly:

You are and have been a great friend Tracy, I feel the same way! :goodvibes

I am SO excited you get to go on your vacation soon!!! What an exciting time to explore, connect with friends and be away from work! :woohoo: And weddings are fun, especially when it is with people you like a lot. Lisa truly IS feeling so much better, although the cough is creeping back here and there, makes me wary but I am watching her. She still has two more weeks of antibiotics, she finished the steroids Thursday. I love seeing her playing again and her fatigue is not all day, although I will find her lying down at various points in the house because she just gave out.

I DO wish you were here to enjoy the movie days...not sure which day we will actually watch Christians movie, he has a few things planned this weekend, so he will let me know today. Have a marvelous day!!!!

I am reading and praying.
Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Billy is doing good and will see his doctor again next month. Bob came for a short visit over the 4th. Still keeping busy with our chores and trying to do as much as I can in the early morning before it heats up.

Thank you Gail!!! :goodvibes We can't do the military tickets, not enough of a discount; but, it is all good! I was so happy Bob was able to come for a visit and so thankful you have a husband that will go to the MD! I worry about you out in that heat, I know you have a lot to do. For the millionth time I wish we were there to help you! My comfort is that you are a smart lady and know when ti take a break! Looking forward to talking! :goodvibes

Thank you Michele!!! :goodvibes How are things gong on the rebuild? I hope that there have been no snags and they are right on schedule and that you are healing in your heart as well!

Judy, I am reading and I am praying. I really hope that Lisa gets to feeling better soon. I know how hard it is for anyone with any kind of chronic issues to fight any kind of infection.

Thoughts and Prayers to all that need them.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes Continuing to pray for your Dad!
Judy, prayers are coming Lisa's way. :grouphug:
Thank you Kathy!!! :goodvibes

Praying for your family today, Judy. I hope the doctors can figure out what is going on with Lisa so she can get on the right regiment of medications to knock this thing, poor sweetie.
Thank you Amy!!! :goodvibes I honestly feel it has been a combination of prayer and medicines.

Thinking about your family and Lisa tonight.
Thank you!!! :goodvibes

We are praying for Lisa

:welcome::welcome::welcome: Mary! So great to see you here! Thank you for your prayers!!! :goodvibes
Praying for Lisa to feel better. Can she use a Neti pot with warm saline rinse? I get frequent sinus infections and rinsing with a Neti pot really helps.
Thank you Nancy!!! :goodvibes The pulmonologist also told me to get this hypertonic saline solution to use when Lisa is stuffy, he said it was like salt water up the nose..he likened it to having a cut at the beach that heals from the ocean water. I TRULY appreciate the advice from you.
::yes::
Praying for Lisa and all of you along with her doctors to figure this out and get her on the right treatment quickly.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes How are YOU doing? Still in my prayers!

Continued prayers for Lisa! I really hope they can get this under control and she can start feeling better!! :grouphug:

Thank you!!! :goodvibes Still dancing for you sharing the news!!! :dancer::jumping1::dancer:

Thank you Michelle!!! :goodvibes I hope you all have a great weekend!

Judy,

Just returned from vacation. So sorry to hear Lisa is not doing well. Lots of laundry to do but will try to catch up soon!

Debbie

Thank you Debbie!!! :goodvibes I hope you had a fabulous tine on your trip!
Any pics to share?

I don't comment a lot, but I do read your posts often. I'm so very sorry that Lisa is still so sick with the sinus infection. I pray from the bottom of my heart that she starts to feel better soon!!

:welcome::welcome::welcome: Thank you for letting me know you are here! I appreciate your prayers, They mean a lot and to know you are praying means a lot!

Joining the others in praying for Lisa.
Thank you!!! :goodvibes

I hope the princess is feeling a little better today, uugggh, neti pot, I can't even use nose spray much less that thing, more power to her! Have a good day and and even better week.

Thank you Deborah!!! :goodvibes Yes, I can admit the neti pot and I didn't get along. I think Lisa has always just wanted to feel better and it does help.

Sending prayers, warm wishes, and hugs your way.
Thank you!!! :goodvibes It really IS good to see you!
Joining with everyone who is praying for your family.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes
Praying that the doctors can figure out why the sinus infection is lingering so very long. I know that Lisa is ready to feel better.
Thank you!!! :goodvibes I know you will not see this for a few days but I am SO excited you have the entire family home for the weekend! I know your Mama heart is full of love and happiness!!

Still praying.
Thank you!!! :goodvibes Any more pics to share?? I have been inspired!

Huge hugs and prayers your way. I will now think of Lisa every time I use my Neti Pot. My sinuses are so bad that yesterday the Neti Pot wouldn't even work from nare to nare (I got a lovely throat wash instead :sad2:).

Prayers for all good things to happen today :)
Thank you Andrea!!! :goodvibes Boo to the throat wash! How is your shoulder??? Are you well? This summer HAS to be better than last year! Let me know how things are going. Inquiring minds want to know!

Judy, I've been thinking of and praying for your family all day today. I hope Lisa is feeling better and all the appointments for today went well.
Thank you Amy!!! :goodvibes I am glad it is the weekend and we just have the kids activities and not appts!

Sending lots and lots of prayers your way!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes How is your granddad?

Judy. I have been crazy busy this summer and I haven't been here much. Soo sad to hear Lisa is still sick! I wil keep her in prayerr

Thank you!!! :goodvibesI hope it has been a good crazy busy and you have had some fun. I am READY for some fun!
I hope she starts to feel better soon and someone can get to the bottom of the sinus infections! I'm not a doctor, but I have to agree that it just seems like something else is going on that is causing the sinus infection to reoccur for so long!
I've tried using a neti pot, because the idea of it is really intriguing..I must have done something wrong, because it stung so bad, just like when you get water up your nose in a pool! OW. My sinuses are burning just thinking about it! Lisa can teach me some tricks, because I am clueless with that thing!
Thank you for the prayers!!! :goodvibes I am with you on the Neti pot, I have never been able to do it consistently correctly!

He told me To use this when she has an infection and the 1% solution on a regular basis. Lisa is using the 3% no problem and she does seem to be improving overall, except for that cough. He said it was easier than the neti pot (He actually gave us the post a year or so ago for Lisa and she is a pro at it)...this is less cumbersome though!

Hearing that sweet voice in song, however tiny it was, I'm sure it was music to your ears in more ways than one. I'm glad she is getting her song back. Hopefully she will be back to her self and singing and dancing up a storm.

It was glorious Michelle, and she actually was singing a lot Thursday and Friday, I am thankful, because LAST Thursday she told me she needed to take a break from singing/performing, that is why I took her back to the MD on Friday!

Finally had a chance to check in and oh my, so sorry to read of the illnesses! Adding my prayers to the mix and so glad Lisa was singing some yesterday. My prayers do continue for all of you but loads of special ones for Lisa!!!!!!

Thank you Jennie! You have been on my heart so much, I know deployment time is near and I remember those days of just not knowing exactly when/what was happening. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I hope you a had fun last night!

Praying for ALL to have a great weekend!!

So glad to hear she was feeling a bit better yesterday. Continuing to pray for you all.

We go back to the ortho to have Benjamin's palate expander placed today for the second time. The first one came loose and got bent before we realized it was loose so they had to remove it and start all over. He lost all the space we had created with cranking while we waited for them to make his new one so we get to start that all over today, too, poor kid. Apparently, he feels it most in his nose when we crank it (go figure), so he is really dreading the next 10 days. I am hoping maybe this time it won't be so bad since he's only had it out for a couple of weeks.
Amy, Praying that Benjamin is tolerating the plate expander, that just sounds horribly painful and to have to restart..poor sweetie he has been though a tough time al around! Tell him I am praying!!!

Judy, I have been praying for Lisa. You know I understand how chronic problems can complicate other illnesses and vice a versa. I tried posting yesterday but Johns tablet wouldn't let me do it for some reason. Regardless of whether I can post please know you are all in my heart and in my prayers.

We are headed back home today and I am nervous. We haven't heard anything from camp camp so Jonnie must be doing okay. I will call for an update today just to make sure. I know camp is good for him and I am so glad he got the oppertunity but something in this mama's heart is balling at being so far away from my sick little boy. I have also been praying that Tessa isn't having seizures affect her while she's on charge of other children. I will breathe a sigh of relief when they are home and can tell me about all their adventures while I can see with my own two eyes that they are okay.

I know you are always lifting us up and I so appreciate that! I am happy to see you log in when you can, you MUST spend time with your precious family I get it! I hope y are regaled with many stories of fun an NOTHING bad!

Remember - no news is good news and keep telling yourself that ;) I bet they are having so much fun and their health is fine but a Mama can't help but worry! When do they come home? I envision a big family :grouphug: happening soon.
THIS!! :thumbsup2
Hopefully hearing Lisa sing some means that she is starting to feel at least a little bit better. Hope she continues to improve and is back to her old self soon.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.
I do know the music coming back made ME feel better!
Sending prayers for lots of good things for you and your family.

Amanda
:welcome::welcome::welcome: Amanda, so glad you found me! I appreciate your prayers and hope al is well for you. I need to check out YOUR PTR and let you know I am there!

Thoughts and prayers for you and the family continue! :goodvibes

I know that it had to be wonderful to hear Lisa singing!
It was GLORIOUS!!!

Even I'm not always responding I am always reading and praying. I really hope your dad does call if he's still feeling bad. Continued prayers for you and yours and everyone else who needs them.

Congratulations! I love the new ticker, I am sure everyone will follow along, keep us updated!

I have seen where you live before but never thought about it, my grandparents used to live there!

Lisa singing is music to my ears. :goodvibes
Mine too Kathy! Hope you have a great weekend!
Praying you are hearing a lot more singing at your house and Lisa is improving with the new medicines.
Thank you , the singing makes me so happy!
I love to hear the prayers are working. Our God is a mighty God!!!!
I so appreciate your prayers! Thank you!
So thrilled to hear Lisa was singing! Praying for continued improvement!

HUGE prayer request to send out. Some of you may remember Owen- biggive was done when he and his family went to WDW and Universal last year.......... Well......Owen gets his new heart today!!!! Surgery is set for 10 west coast time. Lets surround this family with prayers!!!
Thank you and Thanks again for letting us know the surgery was imminent!
Thank you. I need to hear that. I know it logically but it's taking a lot to convince my heart of it. Two more days and I get to see them and yes your right I'm sure they are having the time of thier lives.

Judy, glad to hear Lisa had a better day today. Hoping for an even better one today. Sending lots of :hug:and prayers your way today.
Today is the day if I can count! I KNOW you are excited/relieved!! Such a plethora of emotions when we send these children out into the world.
Thanks for reminding us.
I am thankful she let us know a donor heart was available. I have been praying for Owen and family as well as the donor family.

It's a darn good thing that I don't live closer...otherwise, I'd have come over and gobbled up each and every one of those cookies and strawberries! Oh and bacon? Love it!

I'm loving your family movie nights! Sounds like a great way for the family to spend time together AND get excited for Florida! (as if it took much but you know what I mean ;))
The guys said if you would come visit they would make you some cookies! :goodvibes I confess those strawberries were YUMMY too! The bacon was a yummy treat.

We are enjoying our movie nights, they are so much fun! I am glad my guys don't feel as if they are too old to join in. :yay:

What a fun movie night, and such yummy food too. I am now drooling after my little Lean Cuisine frozen lunch. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
I NEED to be eating a Lean Cuisine, instead of these yummy treats. I DID only have two cookies! And a bunch of strawberries! :lmao:
Oh how fun!! But now you've gone and made me hungry!!! :lmao:
It was so much fun. Christian told me he has planned our movie for tomorrow, he has a pretty busy day today and needs to go to the grocery store to get a few things. I hope you have a fun family day too!

So glad to read that Lisa is feeling better today! JJ asks me every day how Lisa is. But I have to be so careful what I say to him.

Today was one of JJ's worse days with the ticking. This afternoon they were painful. They last anywhere from seconds to a few minutes. Seems when he fights it, they come back more plentiful and more powerful. At the same time it's hard to try to relax when he is choking. The medication is not helping him at all. He is 16 on a waiting list for OT. In between, we try to make the best of it. The last 2 Mondays we went to Disney for a couple hours. Those brief escapes are heaven. (Posted pictures on my TR.) Wish you were close enough that you could escape for a bit too.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know. Somewhere I have a book called One Tank Trips. Many of the destinations are right here in Central FL.

The movie night looks fun. Those red, white and blue strawberries look delicious.

HUGE prayers coming your way, I am certain that is causing lots of stress. :grouphug::hug::grouphug: I AM so happy you can escape for a bit to Disney, I am sure that is the best medicine. One of these days...I do love seeing YOUR pics!

One tank trips sounds good to me...of course, by the itme I fil my tank up that is the budget :lmao:! Oh the days of gas under a dollar...I miss you!

 I am still here even if I don't have time to log on that much. You and your family are always in my prayers.:lovestruc

Love those strawberries.... YUMMY :hyper:

Glad to hear Lisa is doing a little better. I have been sick for two weeks. I know I had the beginning of pneumonia again and the antibiotics barely helped.
If you come vist me in Charlotte I will make you some Strawberries (if they are in season). I appreciate you anytime you can be here. I just realized I am going to miss you by three weeks at Disney. Are you making any wonderful new outfits for the children or do you have some from your last trip you can use? I always love to see what you made so please let me know where/when you post the pics. I pray you are feeling MUCH better you do NOT need another bout of pneumonia. Also praying DH back is all better!
Glad to hear Lisa is feeling better! So far with our exchange students we have learned that people in china don't have ovens. The girls had never baked before!!!! So my baby and our exchange students made toll house cookies. Fun and delicious

More prayers needed for my dad
FIRST and most important Prayers for your Dad! How much fun you must be having learn about China firsthand...and I bet those cookies were YUMMY!

God Bless you Gail Thank you! I owe yo a few email responses as well, but I hope we can catch up this weekend! :goodvibes I know you have been incredibly busy. :grouphug: As you know the girls enjoyed the movie, as did I. Saige is now a fave at our house!

I need to check out the latest links you sent on wheat. I fully believe it would be a great thing to eliminate from our diets, I need to figure out how. Noodles are cheap and filling, so they are a huge part of our diet. Fruits and veggies cost a lot around here and David's garden has been drowning, so pasta (FULL of wheat) is a staple. I wish I was there so you could cook for me! I need a cheap alternative to dwarf wheat, is there such a thing? Praying you and Billy are well! :grouphug: (AND Tiffy!!!)

Glad that you and the girls were able to watch almost the whole movie before the interruption. I missed some after the first hour but saw the ending.

That's the same type of conversation we had with our daughter about removing the wheat from their diet because of the family's food budget. They make flour inexpensive and the whole foods are more expensive to feed a family. She says that with children, the food budget can get really high eliminating wheat. When you get the chance to hear what Dr. Davis says, most will want to eliminate the dwarf wheat from their family's diet because of the health consequences for everyone. She has a health issue and we told her about the wheat could be the cause of it. She experimented by not eating wheat for 10 days and she didn't have any problems. Then she decided to eat something with wheat and she didn't feel well that evening. She was tested for gluten intolerance but it didn't show she was sensitive to it. Dr. Davis says the problem in wheat in the 99% of the population is the gliadin not the gluten that 1% celiacs can't tolerate.

We finally got a little rain for a couple of days here. The plants in the garden loved it. Sorry that David's garden has been drowning in all the rain you've been getting. We always seem to be able to grow Swiss Chard and have a bed full of them. The squash plant is doing well but had to fence them off because we found the lizards were munching on some. Still waiting for the beans to show up. There's flower on them but no beans yet.

I have been using almond flour, flax seed meal and coconut flour to substitute for wheat. There is a substitute that Dr. Davis recommends in his cookbook to use Shirataki noodles. I haven't tried using it yet. Can't find any locally here. I probably will have to order some over the internet. You might be able to find them in your local grocery stores or Asian market. Amazon sells it and check these links that explains how to use it. http://www.konjacfoods.com/ http://www.genkiusainc.com/order/index.html http://www.asianfoodgrocer.com/category/shirataki-noodles One of the side benefits to these noodles is weight loss :thumbsup2 and another is the amount of fiber they contain.

Will try to give you a call tomorrow. Have a great weekend!

Happy Saturday...Judy I can't believe you found time to do all those replies...you are amazing! I hope both girls are feeling better and your Dad is willing to check in with his doctor.

I am excited to see what Christian plans for the movie night. Your whole family is so creative.

I have had a really sad week. At the end of April my puppy dog Maxine was diagnosed with cancer in her jaw. She is my best friend and stood beside me for 14 years. The vet thought she had about 6 months but unfortunately she was called home last weekend. I am devastated by her loss. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that she is really gone.

I know to some people she is only a dog but to me she was my world.

Sorry...don't want to be a downer and I know she is happy and healthy now but dearly missed.

I'll be watching for the pictures of the movie night. My sisters and I decided to head over to San Diego for a few days next week to get away and regroup before the school year starts (they are both teachers and I work at auniversity) it is going to get busy quickly. We love the zoo over there and will spend time wandering around there.

Judy you really are amazing. I always feel welcome and you are a positive person. It is easy to be happy when things are going well, it takes a special person to do it when things aren't going well. Thanks for the example. :goodvibes

Today is the day if I can count! I KNOW you are excited/relieved!! Such a plethora of emotions when we send these children out into the world.

Very close! We picked them up yesterday and I didn't get on and share then because it was such a LONG day. We had to be there to pick them up at 10am which meant hitting the road at 6am. Once we got there it was very hurry up and wait but we finally got to the kids cabins to see them. Then it was back on the road. The kids talked non step for the first 45 minutes. Overall I think they all had a really good experience. There were some issues but I think the good outweighed the bad and I think they all felt that way. Jonnie had a lot of fun but felt like he was being teased for needing special foods because of allergies. Knowing Jonnie someone mentioned the different food and he thought they were teasing and being mean. He has a hard time understanding the difference. Tessa really liked being a counselor but she had one camper and her mother who really tried her patience. She also had an emotional time. The kids were a mix between those with parents who had a service connected disability and those who had a parent KIA. Tessa had to stay strong and upbeat for the kids and not let her own emotions get the best of her. She told me her and her co counselor (who also had a dad with severe injuries and illnesses) cried together at night when the kids were asleep because it all just got to be too emotional. She does really want to go back and be a counselor next year and the head counselors really liked her and asked her to come back so that's great. Jenna had got pretty emotional too but being a camper she had access to a counselor and support groups. When we picked her up Jenna's sinus's were really bugging her and I gave her some allergy medicine but that knocked her out for the rest of the trip, she even slept most of the time we were at the restaurant when we stopped for lunch. She woke up 10 min before we got home and said she wished it was lunchtime because she finally felt like she could eat instead of sleep. The trip home included a detour to pick up something special for Jonnie. He has had an old android phone loaded with music, movies and apps that he uses during car trips and medical appointments but it broke on our fourth of July trip. John had told him to put it in his scooter basket while he did the outdoor games. When we loaded the scooter John forgot to take the basket off and the phone flew out. Well two days ago someone in my home school group posted a tablet for sale for a ridiculously low price. I contacted her asking if it worked and if the price she posted was right and she said it had been given to them and they had no use for it so she posted it for that price to bless someone who could use it. Well it was certainly a blessing for us and the timing was perfect because her location is normally way out of the way for us but wasn't a bad detour on the way home from camp.

As always sending prayers your way, Judy. Hoping you have a good day today and that Lisas cough turns out to be nothing.

Sandra, congratulations on the baby. I will be praying for an uneventful pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Congratulations! Praying for a healthy pregnancy for you. We had four and I think it was the perfect number for our family.

No worries on my PTR! Your family needs the prayers more than we do right now.

Amanda
