These guys are fun --

No. These guys are crazy!

As one critic said, "Amazing! These guys actually get AWAY with this!"

The BlackStreetBoyz. One of the most hillarious comedy duos you'll ever see. They have a standard of excellence that meets the criteria of ANY audience, young or old.

Brought up poor in a rough neighborhood in the ghettos of Beverly Hills, CA (actually they hail from Denver, CO, but that's another story), The BlackStreetBoyz (Alfred and Seymour) are actually cousins. They have been seen on the "Tonight Show", "Friday Night Videos" on NBC, Nickelodeon's "Kenan and Kal", and "Hangin' With Mr Cooper". Do you remember the hit TV series, "Roundhouse" on Nickelodeon? Well, it was a bunch of years ago and The Boyz were really young, but they were on that show about a million times.

Did you see the movie, "Fair Game"? Yep, they were in that, too. Maybe you saw the American Express commercial with The BlackStreetBoyz, or the Pepsi commercial. Or, maybe the Bud Light and Sketchers commercials. In each, The BlackStreetBoyz were featured.

If you had been, or are, in the Armed Forces, then you probably saw them LIVE on one of the USO Tours giving the "Boys Abroad" a few laughs while on R&R.

But the best way to catch the act is by booking a cruise on Disney's "The Magic And The Wonder" Cruiseline, or NCL's "Norwegian CruiseLine". Either way, they perform nightly throughout the year on these famous ships.

Bon Voyage! And get the family ready for an unforgettable, side-splitting event everyone will remember for years to come.

It's so confusing.

Woody

Haha... sorry for the confusion! She waited on BACK... not BLACK... or maybe she has waited on both & BLACK tip well so she never mentioned them! :rotfl:

On another note... has anybody else (who has already booked stuff) noticed that "your cruise plans" page on the DCL website is really messed up? I saw the Palo group dinner was set for 4/14 so I wanted to make sure that didn't conflict with any spa treatments I booked for myself or my Mom. NOTHING I booked was showing up (between Palo, excursions & Spa I booked 9 things at 12:01 am on 12/26) I started to panic! BUT-- every time I refreshed the page something different would show up! Sometimes just Palo, sometimes just spa, sometimes odd combinations of things! Finally everything showed up all together so I printed it with conformation numbers to be safe! Weird.

I was getting Back Street Boyz confused with Boyz2Men - weren't they on a previous TA?

Sorry, not as cool as you....I can't book anything till Sunday. :sad2: :rotfl: One day I will catch up but by then they will have something grander I will be trying to acheive and you will have passed me again!!! :rotfl: :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Yes I love Boyz2Men. I am hoping they will be on board again. They got on at the Canary Islands last time. I am thinking that won't be the case this time bc of these other guys. We shall see.

Well I got my packing cubes from Avon yesterday - glad I ordered 4 sets because they are smaller than my Rick Steves ones - but that is ok with me as it will make it easier to cross pack with cubes and also for our time at WDW.

I will start packing some of them this weekend and that will help me feel like we are getting closer.

I can pick my seats on our plane ride to Orlando tomorrow! I so much want to get on a cruise before this one - I have the outlines for my other 4 books and asked hubby if I could do one cruise to write each one - he did not think that was that great idea but I did :)

--All of our excursions dissappeared. DW e-mail DCL reservations. They were quick to e-mail back, and confirmed everything was still visible on their end.

Lynne - The BlackStreetBoyz actually go by Albert & Seymour ... which is probably a better name ... less confusing!

For those who are asking, what is an FE ... it's an acronym for FISH EXTENDER. Okay, so what is that? It's a message holder, which is conveniently hung from the DCL "fish" mounted outside of each stateroom. The fish is designed to hold notes, messages (instead of slipping under your door). The FE is usually customized to taste and desire - Disney style! We had ours made as a 3-pocket (I've seen 2, 3 & 4 pockets). For ours, the 1st pocket has me and DW. 2nd pocket has our DS (volunteer fireman, named Mike). 3rd pocket with DCL logo, for any guests sailing with us - or for overflow.

I've mentioned before that since we have gone every year on the DCL since my almost 10 year old was just under 3, we have made some great friends with a few cast members-- especially one of our servers (started as asst. server, then server... you get the point)... Anyway, she waited on the Back Street Boyz on a few of their cruises and she told me that they NEVER TIP OUT at the end of the cruise! All the servers know this so NOBODY wants to have them in their station anymore! Isn't that so pathetic??? (on the BSB's part-- I don't blame the servers!)

OK, I really screwed this one up... it is not BACK Street Boys OR BLACK Street Boyz... the NON-TIPPERS are Boyz II Men! I am a wealth of information, aren't I??? lol

I think this makes me cooler. :cool1:

Hi everyone!
We would like to participate in at least the first meet & greet onboard, do we have a place/time/date for that yet?

Also, I do not know what a Secret Mickey is...how is that different from the Fish Extender thing? Not sure if I want to do either or both

Still wondering if anyone can answer my questions....feeling a little ignored :sad1:

Nothing official has been made for the 1st meet as of yet, just talk.

As for Secret Mickey. It is like a Secret Santa. You will be assigned someone. They will have filled out a little form that has their likes, etc. I think there is info on the website. You will drop off little gifts throughout the cruise and then towards the end we will have a meet where your SM is revealed.

--One more reason why (I think) they go by Albert & Seymour!

<<INITIAL MEET 'n GREET>>
Does anyone have a problem with Promenade Lounge, 3PM - 4PM? It's an open lounge ... will NOT be reserved for us ... but IS available for us to use. If this sounds good, I will confirm with DCL Special Functions. No obligation or cost on anyone's part.

We have not set the first meet and greet yet - we are working on those details so you are not missing any info for that yet.

Secret Mickey is kinda like a secret pal. You deliver small gifts to ONE person who you will know before hand and you will find out some things about them like favorite character, etc. and you will drop them off throughout the cruise (longer cruises it is not everyday - usually a money limit and then one gift at the reveal! On the PC WB none of the people we had showed up for the reveal (ones we gave to - except I think my daughters') so that was not as much fun for me.

Does that make sense? We have not set the rules up for ours on this cruise yet.

--Part of their routine includes well known verbiage, something to the effect of, "Once you've gone BLACK, you'll never go BACK!"

Sorry, I just HAD to say that! :yay:

Just does not seem very Disney to me. :confused3 Or maybe just not for me.

I would expect an act like that on another cruise line...it does not seem to fit on DCL to me. I am very sarcastic and love to joke around but I have not heard anything about these guys that makes me want to watch their act.

Hey - can we make our Palo dinner for somewhere between 21-23 April, LOL I am just kidding! I am one who skips the variety acts a lot! I love the broadway style shows and save my watching for those shows. I usually enjoy other things around the ship during the variety times anyway.

This may be a bit too much work, but one thing we could do is everybody posts what books they are bringing on the cruise. If you would like to read anyone's books, then let them know. Each book could have a list (kinda like a checklist) of who to give the book to next. After being read, it could be dropped into the next person's FE. If the person who gets the book is in the middle of another book, they could just drop it into someone else's FE that is on the list. Each person would cross off their name after reading the book.

Is this too complicated?

Kristi

I've experienced both types of book exchanges.

Backpack.

Pros: No one is required to oversee it. Books available 24/7.

Cons: Books available 24/7 in a public area -- and disappear! Impersonal and no feedback.

Designated Exchange Times:

Pros: The current titles stay within the group. So if someone is reading, say, Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol," someone might ask to read it next, and at the end we can donate it to the crew. Also, people get to know other people's taste, and can make recommendations. Also, it helped to have post-its to put in books for notes, such as, "Save for Steve."

Cons: Someone has to oversee it (I believe Dee has volunteered). If there are too many on consecutive sea days, people haven't finished their books yet and don't show up. That's why I suggested having a few meetings, spread out over the two weeks.

I found the book exchanges work best as a separate event where the focus is books. The serious readers do attend.

There are always more to come. I think we need to set a date that cuts off the FE. If anyone choses to join after that point then they will have to know that some people may not have enough to give out to the late people. I am one who will keep on making/buying till the end but I know for some that just can't happen. My gifts has always been something that I have been able to make more of. :rolleyes1

Any suggestions on a date?

My suggestion would be February 1st. That would give everyone two months to either make or buy what they want to give in the FEs.

It would be a good date to cut off for SM as well. That would give us time to submit our information, have the leader make the assignments and send out the information. Then at least 6 weeks to get stuff.
