Last TA we had 14 suitcases, not small ones either. This time I have to deal with the baggage constraints and I have no idea how I am going to pull it off!!!

--Where the heck to you put your empty luggage within your stateroom?

As a reminder to all ... if anyone is traveling with Active Duty Military personnel, PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR AIRLINE CARRIER, as some have relaxed their baggage allowances for Military Personnel and their additional passengers ticketed on the same itinerary. American Airlines is one such airline that allows TWO FREE bags for military personnel - just make sure you READ their requirements. I suggest printing a copy of the fine print ... bring it along with you, in case there are any discrepancies!

ok more plans made today for our before trip to WDW:

Changed our package from deluxe dining to quick service dining plan saving us $500! We figured out we can use our snack credits at our resort for a small breakfast.

We then booked the Segway Tour at Epcot for 8:30 on Friday for Ashley's birthday - the kids will hang out in epcot while we do the tour.

Now to figure out how and when we are coming home from europe.

We were going to try just our carry ons, but with the cool weather we expect that time of year, we will be packing sweaters and such, so gave in and bought one medium sized (30") ultralight hard sided bag to check. This will be the first bag we have checked for outgoing travel in years. I really am going to hate to pay that charge!

...We were in London for a week, and I think we took about 2 tube rides, but spent most time traveling on buses. Many visitors to London are intimidated by the buses, and in some cases it can be a little longer than the Underground. However, part of the whole charm is to see it from a window above ground, I think.

We rode both bus & subway (Underground) during our short time in London. Definitely ride both. The Underground is in itself a great landmark - "Mind the Gap" - watch out for space between the train and the platform. It is so crowded (for us non-big city folks). But the bus gives you a view of the city as you ride down the road. You can do double duty - sightseeing as you head to your destination. Bus tickets are on an honor system; you don't have to show them unless they ask for verification.

I had to give up on that thread too, which stunk because it was a great group of people, but I didn't have the same amount of time to devote to following it as some of the others. I'm hoping that I won't need to drop off of this thread too!

Yeah well he does not have two princesses with him who LOVE to dress up EVERY NIGHT!

I can't even use them as an excuse. I am just such a heavy packer but in these new ages of luggage restrictions I am going to find better ways!

I know what you mean about wanting to dress up your kids every night. I'm still going to try to pack a different dress for my DD to wear each night, but we'll see. I'm going to be really short on luggage space because DS won't get a luggage allowance (he's still a lap infant) but he's going to need a good deal of space for his clothes and diapers!

We put our empty luggage under the bed. Our stateroom host showed us once, if you lift the bed up slightly, you can slide all your empty luggage under it! Since then I bought 2 of those huge rolling duffle type suitcases 1 on DCL & 1 in WDW... it holds TONS of stuff & weighs almost nothing!

KrisannB - Is your husband active duty military? DH's has deployed to Iraq for 4 times for a total of 29 months. We are not sure what is next on the agenda for us, only time will tell.

no he is not - he works for a contractor - he is a Project Information Manager (IT Stuff) and has been there for almost 4 years. He gets to come home every 2.5 months for a couple of weeks. This truely was a 4 month assignment that has turned into 4 years now but this is where the company needs him and a job is a job right now.

What arline are you flying - some of them do allow for a lap infant but you have to read the fine print.

Ok so I love the show Castle too! I am also very bias because DD was on that show in the 1st season.

Oh I just loved him! One of the nicest guys ever!!! He treated Brooklyn like a little princess. Everytime Brooklyn sees a Castle commercial she says "I love that guy!"

That is cool! I told my fiance about it, and he was excited about your daughter's involvement with the show too. Lynne messaged me about this right before you posted, it's THAT awesome. Your pictures of Becca with Nathan Fillion/Rick Castle are PRICELESS! Nathan seems to be a friendly guy, and it's comforting to have affirmation that he is that way off-screen too. They look sweet together, and Becca looks happy to be working with him.

Oh and yes DCL is a ghost ship after hours. One of my cruises though there was a great group of young adults who partied the night away as long as possible....we could form our own group?!?!?!?

We don't need to hang out on nights when we have early excursions the next day, but I like the idea of a few DIS'er group evenings! I like that we've already gotten to know each other a bit on the DIS before we embark on our adventure.

There is a HUGE difference between the DELUXE dining plan and the quick service plan in terms of what you get, etc. Here's a big hint--the best "quick service" place on property is the Pepper Mart at the Coronado Springs hotel. It's really more like a table service place, but charges a table service credit. They did change the menu part way thru 2009 (so there are items only available at dinner like the salmon). Food is plentiful and really good. DD swears they have the best hamburgers at WDW.

I thought I read somewhere, about being able to ship a package to yourself at the DCL terminal, for delivery to your stateroom during embarkation evening. If that's true, why not consider shipping diapers? Their weight should make the shipping cost reasonable, and likely much less than either a $25 or $50 extra luggage fee ... and less physical hassle as well.

I am familiar with under-bed storage ... but could not imagine having to store 14 bags! Then again, if you were able to put a rolling duffle into a carry-on pullman, and then, into a larger pullman ... that would cut down on the overall FOOTPRINT of the luggage. KUDO'S to you!
