Naps on deck 4 are wonderful no matter what (or deck 9 for that matter) :lmao:

I do travel w/ earplugs....will bring you some too (cuz I've been known to saw a log too :rotfl:)

Ian - I really liked the cat 11 :thumbsup2

We actually sort of prefer the inside cabin.

I put Sukie out on Deck 4 for an airing everyday.

Hi Maureen! Welcome to this bunch!

I sailed solo on the WBPC cruise (as Karl remembered & Jackie also commented). I had non DIS & DIS friends on board. This was my 2nd solo cruise (1st on in 2006 on a 4nt - with meeting DISers for the 1st time). I enjoy sailing solo, but it was loads of fun having others I knew on board too.

I say GO FOR IT!!!

Jackie - if we stay with a cat11 we an always take turns being in the cave for some alone/down time :lmao:

Hi Guys!

I didn't realize so many of you from the Sept 12th cruise that we changed are on this cruise. Still thinking about doing this I am going to check with my one friend next week she is going on vacation tomorrow will check with her when she returns.

You all are scaring me I was thinking about a Cat 11!!:scared1::scared1: Joe and I usually always book Cat 6's.

If I do decide this will someone be willing to let me join their dinner table??

Maureen, we LOVE our Cat 11's. The sideways ones even have a steamer trunk...try for one of those (they are all the way forward on the ship)...though I THINK cat 11's are all GTY now.

:thumbsup2 EXACTLY!!

I've been in:
Cat 9
Cat 6
Cat 4
Cat 11

so have tried them all - inside, oceanview & balcony - and have enjoyed each one. They all have good points - the cat 11 was great for sleeping & think of it this way....how long are you planning to be IN the room anyways??

long enough for room service to bring me my Mickey Bars... :mickeybar:mickeybar:mickeybar:mickeybar:mickeybar

As of now there aren't any Cat 11's available :sad2::sad2: hopefully if I decide to take this adventure some will come available:goodvibes:goodvibes

Keep checking... they will probably upgrade some people closer to the date and then open up more...

I just checked the DCL website and category 11 is available to book. I check about once a week as we are still not booked on this one and category 11 is what we want.

Just a friendly reminder and especially for JACKIE!!!!!!!!

Make sure your taxes are done WELL Before leaving for this trip... for the post office on Castaway Cay is closed on Sundays, you need exact change, and you know how long it will take for your tax return to get to the IRS from the BAHAMAS!!!! :teacher:

I have made it a habit to file our taxes no earlier than 24 hours before midnight on April 15th (or whatever day they are due) but next year I may have to repent ...... or file for an extension!

Hey there missy, we're in a cat 11. Are you trying to cast apersions our steerage accommodations?

No, we LOVE the little caves! :goodvibes

Our first DCL cruise was in a Cat 9 but all of the rest (including this one) have been Cat11. We love our "Cave Sweet Cave" :woohoo:

I bet as the dates get closer they will begin to upgrade some people to open up more of the 11's so they can be sure and fill up the ship. Not sure how soon they would start that juggling of people and cabins though.

I've been watching for better-location CAT10s to open up since we are connecting 10s on Deck 1. But the other day that category came up as GTY status. Don't get me wrong, we're thrilled to have gotten our connecting 10s no matter the location but would be ecstatic :goodvibes if we got upgraded!!!

We're taking up three of the cat 10s on deck 7. We've had cat 10s on deck 7 before (and loved them!), but we were on deck 2 for our last cruise, and it was a lot better than I imagined. The lower decks are close to the restaurants :)

This will be my last post for awhile. We're leaving for WDW

Have a wonderful trip. Don't be surprised if you run into friends from the WBPC, as a collection of them will be at WDW over the next two weeks! (NOT me however :sad1:)

Right. But I'm hoping they give us time to consider excursion options before they open it up for booking. I've been reading as many TRs as I could get my hands on to give me an idea of what to expect. We are jumping out of our seats here at my house over this cruise. I'm sure it'll die down in a few days, but we did just book it the other day. :goodvibes

I've taken a look at current weather in Spain and it seems to be very similar to what we are experiencing here in Northeast PA -- 50s and 60s with some rain here and there. That's ok, though! We didn't book it thinking we'd get beach/tropical weather.

I know that on the Panama Canal cruises, they opened the excursion listings up in plenty of time for us to think and decide what we were going to try and do before the 105 first booking date. I am sure they did it on the TA repos too, but I joined the cruise after the 90 day date, so I don't know when they did.

When I went in May, it surprised me how windy it was up on deck. We also had some rain here and there, and it was overcast. There were not many people up on deck, at least compared to the normal cruises I am used to out of Florida. I remember wishing that I had a jacket, and bought one of the TA ones on board. I remember it not being bad weather wise in the ports though.
