Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

:grouphug: What's up LL?

I honestly don't know but I am in panic mode. I think I am feeling overwhelmed about the trip. I'm not complaining just panicky. I think I am worried about my feet, the crowds, making sure Mom gets on the Magical Express, leaving Marc, flying by myself. And honestly, Marc is my rock and he keeps me calm and sane and I'm leaving without him....what was I thinking!?! :lmao:

Oh LL!!!! Two worriers in the same room on the same trip oh boy...help us all!! The flying thing is a non-issue for me I don't fly unless I have to because I would be in a huge panic (hmmm...somehow I don't think I'm helping things out here LOL)

Okay good news...my banquet dress came in last night and it fits fine but in the shoulders but a friend is going to put in some darts and it should be great, it looked so pretty on me. Now I need to find time to buy some shoes LOL!!!

I then went home and fell asleep and woke up for a brief moment and then went back to bed and work up almost human again LOL!! So that's a good thing!!!!

Yay for the dress working! My dress for the wedding should be delivered by Thursday. I hope so!

Okay, I put my Twitter link in my signature. I am very proud of my Disney-fied background I made on my page! :woohoo:

Hi everybody! Stop freaking out LL! Everything will be fine! How ARE your feet by the way?

Tough decisions, Katie....

C- BUY BUY BUY!!!!!

Paula- that'll be so awesome when it's done!

OMG. We had "Muffins with Mom" this morning and Ebin's mother came dressed to school so inappropriately that I was mortified!!! She is a middle school math teacher for crying out loud and had a meeting right afterwards to go to!!!

Imagine:

Black, 1950's pinup F*** me pumps.
Sheer tights that end at the ankle and have tattoo designs all over them.
Bright electric blue halter dress w/empire waistline to above the knee layered over a white tank top and under a black hoodie.
Short SPIKES in the back of her head with long layers framing her face, which she has pulled out all the stops on- with red lipstick and black eyeliner.

Good for a tattoo artist or the like, but for a 33 YR OLD MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER AT HER CHILD'S SCHOOL FUNCTION?!

O>M>G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG Julez! That description has me almost howling with laughter! What was she thinking!?! :lmao: Poor Ebin, I hope he wasn't embarassed.

My feet are better! The swelling has gone way way down. They don't hurt anymore at the end of the day. My heel is still bothering me but not as much. I have been doing exercises to stretch it out. :thumbsup2

Not to enable you or anything..... but....3K (in the grand scheme) isn't ALL that much... You could always rent the extra points (use 100 and rent 100...for example) and at $10 per point, you'll have that 3K back in your pocket within 3 years (not even counting that YOU won't be paying OOP for your rooms either) Plus...since you ARE hoping for a 'status' change sometime in the future..you may be really glad 3-5 years from now that you have the additional points;)

knowing the vacationing nature of these gnomies... you may find it VERY easy to rent points... i myself could use some more for paris:rolleyes1 just saying....;)

Paula

Oh no, I'm not looking for anyone to enable me. :rolleyes1  You're right in the grand scheme $3K is not much more. Of course no matter how you slice it $13 or $16K IS a lot. But there is financing. And good point about the status change... I won't always be wanting a studio. Maybe I'll want the grand villa for future gnomie travel events!

No Gnomies this morning? What's going on here?

Ugh I feel rotten this morning! Daniel came into our room around 3 am, he went back to bed and I laid in bed thinking about the job situation. I did get to sleep in a bit but I woke up with a terrible headache!

While awake, I actually was debating in my mind if I could do both jobs. Most of my work at UNI can truly be done from home but there are the inevitable meetings I would need to attend from time to time. Greg said he saw the master schedule yesterday and the 2/3 teacher will teach the last 4 hours of the school day (11:20-3:30) Which means by the time I got boys to school, there wouldn't be enough time to make the 1 hour commute there and back and actually accomplish anything, and it would be pushing 5 before I could get there after school. SO, I don't see how I could make that work.

I crunched the numbers last night and I'm looking at a very minor increase in pay (actually a decrease if you factor in what I got paid for the class I taught in the fall). There won't be commuting cost (and time!) and there will possibly some money recovered in insurance benefits. And the long term prospects of the teaching job are better than my current job. BUT, my current job is so flexible and I do love the work I am doing.

OTTFV!!! Sorry for my ramblings this morning!!

How is everyone else? Give me some good news!!

Don't apologize! That's a lot on your mind. Does Greg have an opinion? No commute sounds nice. But I will say that loving what you do is important too (speaking as someone who does NOT love what they do).

I am freaking out this morning. I need to calm down but everytime I think of my trip I want to puke. I just hope this is a little phase that will pass....in like 15 minutes. :rotfl:

Freaking out!? :scared: But it's a Disney freak out so all is well.

It doesn't look to be a huge investment into becoming an agent but I too question whether it would pay the bills. It's definitely what I will do if I ever win the lottery

I agree!!

any new thoughts C? I can provide no advice but am thinking of you as you struggle with the decision!

No new thoughts. Of course the Today show didn't help this morning w/ more dire talk about the economy. And I think even though I could afford it, wouldn't my $ be better spent on a new car, or finishing the basement, or the landscaping I want to do? :confused3 DVC can sound so frivolous.

OMG is an understatement. Wow. Ebin is probably too young to be embarrassed by her but what happens when he realizes what she's wearing? She sounds like a piece of work. And a middle school teacher too? :scared1:

I'm so glad they are feeling better!! :yay:

C, I think you should go for DVC, because it's something you really want and you know that you will use it. That's my two cents. Don't pay attention to the stupid economy.

Yes, if I get some good wedding pictures I will post them. :thumbsup2

Yeah! DVC = 1 :) Stupid economy = 0 :headache:

Good point. Would you please tell Matt Lauer and Brian Williams to stop reporting on it??? :rotfl:

This is probably going to sound really bad but I can only stand 15 minutes of news a day. I watch from 12 - 12:15 on my lunch break everyday. That's all I can take. I am so sick of the "THE WORLD IS GOING TO END" mentality on news. Can you believe that one of our local news stations actually cited TMZ as a source on a story!? :scared1:

well....lets see... car=15K..... lasts 7-10 yrs

basement... how often are you in it?? how often WILL you be it?? more than 240 hours a year?? 5 hours a week?? You spend AT least that much time at WDW eack year (10 days) or will you stick your treadmill there and not visit it too often or use it just when you have company??? get married in a couple years...WILL you even keep that house??? Finished basements don't increase the resale value nearly as much as kitchens or bathrooms.... if they're good why fret?? or do you NEDD more living space for you and the pup?? 13K is alot of $$ to spend on unnecessary living space too.

Landscaping.... it'll die anyway:lmao: You can easily do landscaping in stages, thereby keeping the costs in check and spreading it out over years...plus now we are back to the ARE you planning to stay there long enough to reap the reward of 13K of GRASS???

DVC...50 years of enjoyment...it's portable and goes where you do. If circumstances change unfavorably, it's pretty easy to sell off without much loss in value. plus you're paying for your annual trips either way. If FDH (future DH) doesn't like Disney (don't let it be so:scared:) you could disney every other year and use the points for hawaii, vero, Hilton Head, or an RCA property instead.

OK...I'm done now LOL!!!
Paula

You can always count on Paula to put things in perspective with her amazing skill at Disney Math!! :lmao:

You are truly the master!! :worship::worship::worship::worship:

Yea, Ebin is still at the age where his parent's are rockin' awesome. But def. interesting to see how that changes in 5 years or so....

And I would be horrified and on the phone w/the school principal if that was MY child's math teacher. How are kids supposed to concentrate when they're staring at all THAT?! :sad2:

Nah, I don't watch hardly at all, LL. I browse online to the stories that I'm interested in and I discard the rest. I have a very sensitive mind when it comes to tragic and horrible news and decide to not fill my head with it! :cutie:

PLUS, I bet there is a Gnomie or two who would be interested in renting points for DVC in the future. Just saying....

Love the graphic, Julez!! So very cute.
