I don't know Mall Madness either.
FYI, Hungry Hungry Hippos is still popular, my kids played it last night!
Ooh, I loved that game. Also the Cooties game.![]()
I still have my original Hungry Hungry Hippos in the attic at my parents. Along with my Ariel and Eric dolls, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Polly Pocket, and what not![]()
Oh my gosh Jackie!!!Hi, Gnomies! What a day! I believe the worst is behind us now, but let me just say that if the DIS was not a family friendly site, I would have some choice words about my late afternoon and evening -- most of which was spent in my SIL's basement. I knew it was going to be bad, bad, bad when the National Weather Service issued the tornado watch for our area and tagged it PDS (Potentially Dangerous Situation). As our local weatherman said, that has never happened in all the years he has been doing weather in the Atlanta area -- it is usually something that is seen out in the Great Plains during the summer. Well, the storms formed a line from east to west -- not the normal north to south squall line that we are used to seeing. So, we had about five tornado warnings -- the sirens kept going off about every thirty minutes -- one storm after another after another. It was horrible. My SIL got some great photos though -- I may have to add some of them to my spring break update -- they look like something out of the movie Twister. Anyway, let's hope we don't have any more of those.![]()

LL, I am so glad you enjoyed Australia! Did you cry? I boohooed like a baby. Isn't Hugh Jackman just the male equivalent of some decadent dessert in that movie?
Oh my gosh Jackie!!!
Blake, my mom and I were watching the pictures and the radar on the Weather Channel today..I was thinking about you and crossing my fingers! Thank goodness everything was ok with you and your family!
Is Jenn alright too????
Oh my goodness, Jackie! I can't imagine what that must have been like!I often dream of moving to a warmer climate but I've ruled the West Coast out due to earthquake fear and I think that hurricane/tornado fear may get me on the East Coast. Who'd have thunk it but I think I'll take snow any day (except April through October!).
Looking forward to your spring break update!
Adding Australia to my movie list...
CP, glad you and everyone is safe. I'm watching footage on the news about the damage in Arkansas on the news as I type this.
The science nerd in me has to ask...you said the squall line alinged West to East. Did the line move north/south or did it move East/West? When a squall line moves in the direction of its alignment, it is called training (the storms then pass like cars on a train, hence the name) and the growth and "death" of one cell tends to strengthen the next. It is a set-up for very strong and dangerous storms.
Sadly I think this was AFTER my time.Anyone remember hungry, hungry hippos???

They moved from the west to east -- the meterologists did keep calling it a train -- is that maybe why they were calling it a PDS before it even started? I do know that the first storm to really pass through our area had a BTI of 9.0 -- that was the worst of them, but the others weren't a picnic either with BTI's that were pretty high (although that 9.0 was the highest of the night).

I will be the first to admit, I am a BIG science nerd. Not ashamed of it either!
So guess what, last night Greg found a "GREAT" deal on a new amp that he couldn't turn down. Know what that means? $800 more in my Disney fund!
At this rate, I should be able to take 2 trips or stay deluxe during gnomefest
(seriously, if I could take the time off, I would be joining you all in September too)
Oh my goodness, CP. I am so glad everything is okay. I can't imagine having to deal with that, I think I would freak out.
Yes, I cried like a baby. It was such a great movie though the beginning kinda threw me off but then I remembered that Baz Luhrman made the movie. Hehehe. Hugh Jackman was lovely but I did think during the movie that if Heath Ledger had made Australia instead of Dark Knight....would things of turned out differently for him...??![]()
Wow. Weather nerds.![]()
Seriously though... I'm so glad you're safe, CP. I thought of you this morning while watching about the storms.
So I get to relax about another 45 minutes and than we have to leave for the city's "Largest Easter Egg Hunt".The things I do for these kids....
Have a great weekend everyone!

Woooo HOOO for deluxe, Kaite! Actually I was thinking about Gnomefest and what I was thinking was about renting points for the last couple days.. like Sun/Mon when the points are less. Such a great thing to do before heading home..... I've seen some on the rent boards for $8 per point!!
Alright I gotta drag my lazy butt out of bed. I hate doing so because I know that other then the car... I won't be sitting again for HOURS.....
Have a great day ladies!!
Hugh Jackman LOL...who said Hugh Jackman...where I want to see Hugh Jackman...LOL
CP...I'm so glad that you made it through the storms. I said a prayer for you!! I hope all this will pass soon and you will have a great Easter!!!! Don't know about you but I'm actually looking forward to getting back to school LOL
Hi gnomies!
Hope you are all having a great weekend! As I think I mentioned I am trying (perpetually) to get organized. I'm going through my magazine basket and have come across some back issues of Attractions and Celebrations magazines -- both Disney themed. As I was getting ready to put them in the recycling bin it occurred to me that maybe some of my gnomies might like to read these? If you would, just PM me your address. No strings attached-- just agree to send them along to the next gnomie should anyone else be interested.

Good Evening Gnomies.
Marc & I just finished watching Slumdog Millionaire. So very good! We both loved it. Very impressive.
We also watched Bedtime Stories last night, very sweet. I adore Adam Sandler.
As you can tell we are being extremely lazy today. One of his friends came over and they played music and I sat on the couch and read my new Philippa Gregory book(CP, I think you would like these!) and watched "The Women"...bad movie. Didn't like it at all, which is sad since I love Meg Ryan.
