Thanks for the compliments on the new DISigns ladies!! They are fun...but too addictive...I'm up to 250 DISigns in my smugmug granted alot are very similar (name changes or whatnot)...but that still seems like alot for only really doing the thread since January!!

Oh girls it's good to be home, I missed you all. Just reading through today's posts made me smile. I think when gnomefest is over we will just have to begin planning another trip. Maybe I will uninvite my hubby and kids and go on my 40th b-day WDW bash will all of you instead

Oh I know! I was trying to play it yesterday..and I was like..Edward, no Bella, no Alice! Man..I think one of the answers to that quiz is wrong though. The one that asks who said something like "I can smell her across the field" Didn't Rosalie say that and not Alice? Or at least Rose said it in the movie, maybe I'm getting confused.

I'm pleased to report though, I got 100% on the Breaking Dawn quiz, made my confidence about my Twilight knowledge go up

So I'm looking for an easy dessert recipe to try on Saturday...anyone have any ideas LOL!!!

That sounds wonderful!! Phillip is in charge of the appetizer and the side dish....he's going to make bruschetta and asparagus. I'm on the main dish and dessert...I'm going to make Italian stuffed shells and I need a dessert...that torte sounds great...you should PM me the recipe if you have time!!

But I only missed one...the "pink shirt" one.... my brain registered Bella's missing "red" shirt first i forgot all about her and Renee's email at the beginning of Twilight DOH!! I don't remember about the movie (I've only seen it twice)...but I know that Alice said it in the book...that I should know, I've read it 8 times

OK here's my very favorite, easy, barely need to bake, church potluck dessert!!

Blueberry Bonanza

Crust
1 C graham cracker crumbs
1/4 C brown sugar
1/2 stick (1/4 c) melted butter

mix together with hands and pat firmly into 8x10 pan (you can use 9x11 but the dessert has less 'filling' per slice)
Bake crust in oven at 350F for 5 min then let cool to room temp

Topping:
1 C powdered sugar
8oz container thawed cool whip (lite works fiine too)
8oz softened cream cheese

blend with a mixer

add 1 tsp vanilla

blend well


Assembly:
Spread cream cheese mixture onto cooled crust
refridgerate til chilled and firm
Spread 1 can blueberry pie filling on top (can substitute cherry...but it's not as yummy LOL!!)

My Mummum used to make it for every covered dish at church...we NEVER got to take any home...everyone loved it....and still does (I always make 2: 1 to take and 1 to keep )

I always browse through CNN every few hours at work and it's the top headline. They had said originally she has a "critical head injury" but now they're saying she had no signs of an injury, she went back to her room and then just didn't feel well. Oh dear...so sad!!

Man! I totally thought about Bella's red shirt too! I've only read Twilight once, but seen the movie 3 times. You're right though, Rosalie does say it in the movie, but Alice says it in the book. Tricky tricky!!

I saw that this morning.... I really thought they were exaggerating in the media. I work at a trauma hospital... it makes no sense to move a severe head trauma from Canada to New York unless they are STABLE!! There had to be a suitable facility closer to where she was injured.

I really hope that the move didn't contribute to her death...but with the air pressure changes I can't help but think it was not a wise decision

What's scary is that the news reports I heard said that she got up and was laughing about the fall when it first happened. Then later that evening she complained of a headache and that's when she went to see a doctor. So sad, you wonder if it had been caught sooner if she would have survived.

There was an article in the paper here recently about a local kid (senior in high school) who fell skiing and was air lifted to a hospital where they told his parents he might not survive, then when he did they said he might never come out of a coma, then he woke up and they were told he may never move again...you get the idea. The article said he can now move his head and hands (and responds correctly to questions and such by nodding). His basketball team made the state playoffs and when he watched them play online, he moved his feet for the first time. The doctors allowed him to go to watch them in the quarter-finals. The article made me cry, it was so moving.
