The NOAA has released a revised hurricane forecast. Originally, they predicted 9 hurricanes, but now they predict 11! The hurricane season lasts through November. I hope that my September trip to WDW will be safe!
With all the bad luck I've been having lately, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if one huge honking hurricane heads directly for WDW the week we're supposed to be there.

In that case, you might want to contact all the Central Florida DISers and see if they can get a collection going to encourage you to stay home this year. We definately do not need another huge hurricane to head our way.
Looks like a scary season for sure. Anyone on the coast or in Florida needs to be prepared. I dont think its an "if" anymore, its when and where. Conditions are over the next week will be getting better for Tropical Development. By mid august it looks like the tropics will start roaring like a Lion. Be ready and get your Hurricanes kits ready if you have not already!

We are going the first week in October and this is my biggest fear right now. My only hope is that we encounter some rain - or the threat of it - bad enough that it keeps the crowds away but not so bad that the parks cose. I'm waterproof and I bet Mickey is too!
So here's a question: If the parks are open, how many rides will they close in the rain? A lot? Is it worth it to trudge in the rain to see shows and rides that remain open?
I think outdoor rides closes in lightning and the such. But if its raining because of a hurricane there is a good chance the park would be closed anyways.
I heard that this morning on our local news. You have no idea of how much that freaks me out. There is no place to go here, when you live on a island your are kind of stuck. I do not mind the actual storm but I learned last year what it is like to live without water and electric and I have no desire to do that again.
