just a small prayer "please God, stop the world from turining "

you know, i got divorced a short time ago, i have been supporting a cast of characters of my own, helping everyone adjust and working 12 to 14 hr days. we've all been overcoming and just as the sun starts to peek over the clouds...

my 16 yo dn lives with me. he is a great kid and i plan on taking him with us to wdw as you know. he has been bullied at school by some kid at school for the past several weeks, and has avoided confrontation as best he can. on wed i got called on my police radio to go to the school because hes been in a fight. i go there and find out hes been taken by ambulance to the hospitol. the same bully had jumped him and beat him causing a closed head injury. he was lifeflighted to another hospitol and kept over nite with a concussion. he got out yesterday and went home with his mother for a few days until he comes home next week he seemed to be ok. i just got a call as i was typing this,,.. hes throwing up again.

i am the strong one in my family and i have to be there for everyone, so i cant cry in front of anyone or tell anyone else how helpless i feel at this very moment. please pray for my nephew

I hope your DN is okay, and that you find comfort. Don't worry about being strong, I know you feel that you need to be, but mutual comfort is good too. Perhaps someone in your family could offer their shoulder while you offer yours.

Sincerely,
Morticia

He is in my prayers as well as your family. Keep your head up.

I'm so sorry to hear what you and your nephew and family are going through. You are in my thoughts.

I hope that the school takes this seriously. Charges should absolutley be pressed in a violent incident serious enough to cause a head injury!

I hope your nephew is doing well.

Detective,
That is awful. I am not an advocate of violence but enough is enough. It is time to either:
1. Switch schools
or
2. Get the kid to karate class so he can kick the @*%^#! out of the bully.

I certainly hope the bully is getting some form of punishment. You read all too often about the victim getting punished (like expelled) while the bully goes scot free!

My prayers are with you and your family!

Oh Boy, I'm sos orry to hear that. Your family will be in my prayers. I agree witht he Karate post. I put my son in Karate becasue of bullying. Not so he can learn how to fight just so he can learn some self confidence. (and self defense but confidence was more important) and he has not been bullied or at least it hasn't bothered him for the last 2 school years.
Good Luck and let us know how this goes!

I will certainly be praying for your nephew and your family. I hope the school adopts a zero tolerance policy about bullying and the kid gets charges pressed against him. Please keep us posted.

Just do your best to be there for your family. Noone can ask more.
Beth

My thoughts and prayers are with him. I hope he's OK. Keep us updated.

I hope your nephew is OK. I agree that some kind of legal action should be pursued.

This is tough....time to prioritize....don't put unnecessary pressures on yourself, treat his physical injuries first, once those are healed get help for the emotional ones. Do you have a network for support? A pastor, family, friends who can help...can you sign him up for a big brother program? He's not too old...I was a Big Sister for 3 years and so many boys that age need a male figure in their life to bounce their thoughts off of....there are some great men out there who devote their time to this. Get him out of that school...set him down with the principal, counselor and try to determine if he had any responsibility in it so he can prevent it in the future...if he was a complete victim in this then get the courts involved to prevent it happening to another child.

I will be praying and hoping that you stay strong and comforted through this process. And give him a big hug.
Tara

dn was at the er all day. they determined the vomiting was probably from meds for pain and the seizure he had when he was injured. he is better and will go home this evening. ill see him soon and will be able to relax when he is in sight.

legally speaking my brother and dn mother will meet the state att. next week. i cant get involved in the process due to my position, but i know how to steer it. restraining orders and charges etc. will be determined following the investigation. just a sad situation.

thank you, it was just easier to let go on line than in real life.
you are all kind people.

now that all is better, ill just say, cant wait to be in the world
with my family :)

I'm glad DN is better, and I think it's wonderful that he'll be doing some recovering at WDW. I hope this situation is resolved without any further incidents.

Sincerely,
Morticia.

I'll pray for you and your DN. I would also file a civil suit against this kid/his parents for all medical expenses, pain and suffering.

Lori

Add the school, the school district, state, principal to the list of defendants on that civil suit...sorry, I'm an attorney.

BUT I wish you all the best on your well-deserved trip to the World.

I know Mickey and his friends will treat you all with the love, joy and respect that you deserve.

Have a great time.

Still sending prayers your way...:wave2:

Prayers and Pixie Dust to you and your family. Enjoy your trip and let us know how charges come out. The bully deserves something!
