No wbta 2013

Good morning fellow hopeful WBTA'ers!

I think by the time this cruise rolls around you all will be thinking, "Who is this chick and does she ever shut up?" :rotfl2:

I believe the Fantasy comes into PC late, late tonight. Or technically tomorrow. Anyone here going down to see her?

I am still thinking about going to MK tomorrow. Crowds aren't as high (supposedly) right now and it is a bit cooler. Need a Disney fix!

Wish we could go down to see her come in. But DW has to work, and I'm not allowed to venture too far from the house all by myself!!!:confused3:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I do know a couple of people who are going down to see the Fantasy come in. I told them to take some pics.

I know you will have a good time at WDW Holly. When does the new part of the MK open up? I plan to go over when that opens up to check that out.

I'm not sure when the new part opens. I think it's part of Fantasy Land?

It's been far too long since I've been to MK. It seems like every time I've gone it's been to Epcot. I love Epcot (and in fact worked there) but I sure am hankering for a Dole Whip, and maybe a Casey's Hot Dog. Big Thunder Mountain, POTC, Haunted Mansion!!

Another beautiful morning here except for a small earthquake that woke us up.

Whoa BABY! That would do it! I've only ever been through one - the Whittier Earthquake, one month before we left California - but it was enough to startle the bejabbers out of me.

Several of my cast member friends are going out to welcome the Fantasy home. Disney took 13 busloads of cms out for the Dream. There were fireworks and a whole lotta hoopla. If I were in the area, I'd surely make an effort to be there.

Oh No! We were up then too, but the internet coverage here is spotty at best. Couldn't get much of anything yesterday. :confused3

I think it was last night that I just gave up on the disboards!

Well, we have decided and are booked on the EBTA as well as the first Med cruise next year. I have to leave the WBTA to you guys, and I'm sure you'll have a great time!

I looked on my CC site and it's exciting to have 4 DCL cruises booked!

I'm looking forward to meeting those of you who are going on the cruises with DH and me next year!

Bobbi:flower3:

It always happens on these long cruises. about a third of the April Hawaii cruise bailed when they opened the October Hawaii. But there'll be plenty of playmates once there's finally some details available. There always are.

How quickly do these "special" cruises usually book? If you cannot book within the first couple of weeks after the cruise was announced, can you usually still book the cabin category you are interested in? Do the WBTAs usually book quicker than the EBTA? I assume many people prefere a short flight home after a TA instead of a long transatlantic flight back home?

I am sure they will announce the WBTA between 23 March and 1 April... as I am without internet access :rotfl: and there is no chance I can trust DH with booking a cruise. All by himself.

THAT is exactly why I have a travel agent! She KNOWS to jump on it, the instant it's announced, and she will. (I don't think she ever sleeps!)

I don't think these special cruises will quick full. For example the Hawaii cruise of april you can still book almost all cabins. And for the october one all cabins are still available. If you look at the EBTA you can also book almost every catagory except the concierge ones. But if you want a special number cabin then you probebly book as soon as possible.
And the people out of Europe have the long fligth to get home, but we want also to WDW after the cruise so it doesn't matter. We loved the WBTA.

I went to the TA who booked our honeymoon... they say they specialise in cruises... Disney? "Oh, we are so sorry, we can't help you with that."

@ Annichan (and other German/European cruisers): How do you book your Disney cruises?

Yes, we will surely book as soon as possible!
We also don't mind the long flight home.

I see you are from Arnhem? My MIL lives close to Emmerich ;) just across the border.

I know, I have had the same reaction from a TA! :rotfl:

I have so far booked all my Disney cruises (2 done, 2 coming up) myself, without the help of a TA. I prefer to be able to always look at my own reservation online, make changes myself if necessary and be able to speak directly to DCL without needing a "middleman".

I see how there can be lots of advantages to using a TA as well, but probably more so when you live in the States and are able to find a TA who has at least heard of DCL ;).

So anyway, I always book online at the DCL website, and then I reshop on board to benefit from the onboard booking discounts. (Not possible for your first cruise, obviously, but do think about rebooking another cruise onboard - the savings and OBC make it so worth it!)

I tend to agree with you except for the "special" cruises where I want the TA to jump on the cruise and get me the room I want. I know for a fact that I would not have been on several cruises without the help of a particular TA who helped me get just what I wanted.

You can use TA's here in the USA I think even if you are in Europe, Asia etc. as people in my DH John's company live all over the world and use a USA TA.

Just my thoughts...

Our TA is great...she booked the EBTA for the minute it showed up, but we let her know we are holding out for WBTA.

She has been wonderful to work with, and I'm sure she will be on top of it when they open this one. Saves me the time and headache.:thumbsup2
