No way will they sleep in the same bed

We use the Aerobed option. Also, one of the boys uses the sleep sofa in the living room. We had 4 kids, and always got a 2BR, and still ran into room issues when they got older. (we have 3 boys, one girl). Sometimes we brought 2 aerobeds. We use one in the master bedroom next to the king bed.

Once boys are teens, most of them just cannot share a double bed. :3dglasses

Travelling with the in laws? Oh sorry, we booked your room in DisneyLAND. We'll be in DisneyWORLD. :)

Going on vacation means getting AWAY from in laws.

You could pack the air mattresses in your luggage or carryon backpacks. I think you can find them for $10 to $15. Then leave them at the resort if you do not have space in your luggage on the way home.

Another option is use the cushions on the coach as a bed on the floor. They will be stacked up somewhere anyway if the coach bed is pulled out for a bed.

Last option, give them the master bedroom only if they sleep in the same bed, parents take the coach.

I personally would use Alamodes idea, "Just tell your kids that they can either sleep in the same bed at Disney or in separate beds at a relatives while Mom and Dad go to Disney by ourselves."

I know some of the PPs say tell your kids to suck it up, but my kids are in the same situation & I do NOT cater to them believe me. But my DS sleeps like he is in a wrestling match, i.e. kicks, throws his arms around and ends up sideways by morning. I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy so I certainly don't expect his older sister to put up with him. We bought a cheapo $10 air mattress at Walmart & a battery operated pump, it packs light, fits in the living room easily & works just fine. Of course DS gets mad & asks why he always ends up on the mattress, but he's the youngest & that's when I do pull the guilt card, "Hey you're lucky you go to WDW all the time, do you know how many kids only go once in their life & sometimes never?" :rolleyes1

We use a hairdryer on cool setting to blow up mattresses. Does BCV have hairdryers?

If the sleep sofa is the newer style, the cushions do not come off. Not sure if those at BCV have been replaced yet. The ones at the BWV have.

I thought of giving them the king bed as well. The kings are the equivalent of two twins and so unless one or both of the boys really move around a lot, it should work. That said, it would be tough to give up the Master, lol

The "deal with it or stay home" option sounds good, but only if it's because the children fight/don't get along/tease each other. As a previous poster said, some kids just move around so much when they sleep that the other person wakes up bruised or never gets any sleep. Since we don't know, I prefer to accept what the OP said at face value.

Yes, but they may be the kind that is attached to the wall. If so, you'll be blowing it up in the bathroom. Should work, but it may take more than one of you, depending on the layout of the bathroom - I've not stayed at the BCV, but my understanding is that the Master bath area and closet are laid out differently from that at the BWV.

OMG are you people CRAZY????

Give up your KING bed to sleep on the COUCH while you're on vacation?

Didn't we all buy DVC so we don't suffer anymore???

What is wrong with you!:lmao:

For those who have kids that kick you in the night, give them a dose of benadryl and a glass of warm milk before bed, those little boogers will sleep like stones.

We use self inflating camping mattresses, no worries about leaks - they are very tough and inflate themselves.

Can also be used for camping (doh!), sleepovers, etc. They roll up to the size of a pillow and are very light as they are made to be backpacked.

The only caveat is that you shouldn't leave them rolled up over long periods of time without opening them up and letting the expand occasionally, they tend to get sluggish in expanding after long periods being compressed.

We only use 1 bedroom villas for the two of us. If we have 3 or 4 people, we opt for the 2 bedroom.

Count me as another vote for add on points to get a 2 BR. We are still at the stage where the DD and DS (ages 2 & 4) can at least start out the night in the same bed, but we even discussed getting a 2BR next time because somehow one or both end up in the king with us... I think the sofa beds are just too firm to sleep really well if you are used to a normal mattress. I am a crazy early riser and would love to be able to cook breakfast/sit at table and read paper without fear of waking them up. As a matter of fact, I think I am going to add on points this week!! I doubt you'll ever regret it ;)

The sleeper sofas at the BCV are the type that have the cushions that are not removable. We were just there yesterday.

They have hairdryers at BCV, but they hardly blow at all. I decided to try the one in our bathroom a few days ago and I could hardly tell that it was blowing at all. I used my own.

hey! from memories of being the youngest child...and being the 40 year old baby...please don't continually give this reason to the kid, for why he always gets the short end of the stick.

I know what you meant, especially with the kicking...but it gets old.

We have used a twin sized aerobed in the one bedroom when our teenaged son and daughter still lived with us and we vacationed together as a family at WDW. I would never even consider asking them to share the sleepersofa, and I certainly would not give up the master suite! It worked out fine, and even when we flew, the aerobed worked as a carryon. Now seven years later, we are taking our daughter and married son and wife down and staying in a 2BR. I would definitely recommend having enough points for a two bedroom, if possible. Our children still enjoy going to Disney, and we enjoy providing accomodations at DVC. :)

So do we. I was beginning to think we were the only ones who get a 2 BR for only 3 people.

Hey we get 2br's for the 4 of us. DH likes to get up early, go work out, make breakfast without waking up the kids.

Way back in the day, my parents always booked condos or at the least connecting hotel rooms when we travelled(DD always said we needed the extra bathroom for DM, because she took so long getting ready in the morning!). So I didn't have to share a bed with my sister.

One year we had a dedicated two bedroom for the four of us plus my parents. My parents bailed on us last minute and we ended up just the four of us, and it was a wonderful vacation, to the point where we still talk about how much fun it was that week to spread out.

One night we made lasagnas and our friends, who were down there with us (in studios and one bedrooms) all came over with salads, wine, desserts, and we all hung out and watched "Wild Hogs" in the main room and had all the kids and their toys (ages 4-10) in the studio watching their tv with the door (mostly) closed. It was a WONDERFUL evening!

Will we ever do it again? Maybe, if we end up with extra points-that hasn't happened yet, though!

Great question! My boys are 16 & 13. Same problem. Geesh! I'm interested in hearing any answers you get on this.

I posted this earlier. Then I thought, since the boys are teenagers now, would it be fewer points to rent 2 studios?

The cushions on the newer style sleeper sofas in the villas don't come off--they sort of fold under--I don't know how to explain it, but they stay attached.

I wish I'd thought of that! My daughter has one (actually, I think hers is a sleeping bag pad rather than a mattress), but she failed to mention it when were planning the trip. I bought a Coleman with a battery powered pump and left it in my Owner's Locker.
