Sorry if this has been posted.. just got off phone with tours. Walt's footsteps will not include the apt from 9/2 to 10/15 due to backstage refurbishment. Of course that's the window I'm there. Totally bummed :( she tried to sell me on the California story tour, but I basically told her there's no point since Walt never set foot in DCA...

Did they say what the tour will include? Without club 33 and Walt's apartment what else is there besides two rides?

They said not much, and that they've been told to try not to sell it

That would be a bummer to not do Walt's apartment on the tour, it was a highlight for us.

Jack and I were all set to book the Walking in Walt's Footsteps tour when I saw this post. Big bummer. The apartment was the main draw for us. Oh well, there's always next February.

I am scheduled for this tour on Wed, Sept 3rd. They didn't say anything about it to me when I booked the tour. I will be very upset if we don't get to see the apartment. As was said, this is the highlight I was looking the most forward to.

The tour person I spoke to was very clear, but there is always the chance that they could be wrong. When I was talking to her she was reading the announcement aloud to me, so it seemed pretty definite. If I was in your position I would call to insist upon a refund.

As much as it upsets me, I will still probably take the tour. I've never taken a tour there. The one's I've taking in WDW were really great and very educational. I'm hoping that even without the stop the rest of the tour and information will be worth it.

We are also taking the new DCA tour while we are there. Again, not having much experience with the west coast parks I'm hoping that it will be educational and fun.

Please let me know what you think of the California story tour! I'm considering it but am hesitant to book....

I really do hope that there is some kind of postponement and you get to see the apartment after all.

From what I've heard, the Lilly Belle is still available to regular park goers if it's running that day and isn't already reserved for Club 33 members. It hasn't been taken off the table completely for us regular folk. You might try for an LB ride if you don't want to do the tour. Equal magic to the apartment, I think. You just need to be there at park opening and immediately ask a CM at the train station if LB is running and if you can put your name on the list.

Ok I definitely will! I'm there for 5 days, so there's bound to be one day that I can ride if I check every morning (I hope). I got worried when I read they discontinued lilly belle for us regular folk.

Thanks for the heads up.. I already called to inquire about the tour, prices, etc.. I won't bother if it doesn't include the apartment. I appreciate the info. :)

Oh no! I'm devastated about this :sad1: My parents were going to book this for my birthday on 14th September. I even had my Disneybound outfit all planned! Without Club 33 or Walt's apartment, I definitely won't bother. Maybe I'll consider the DCA tour instead.

I've taken many tours at WDW. All of them are great. I took Walk In Walt's Footsteps and Disney California Story last month. I was actually on the very first DCA tour. I wasn't impressed with that one at all. The Walt tour was much better, but really didn't compare to any of the WDW tours. Of course I had the advantage of having been in Walt's apartment before, so that part wasn't my motivation for this particular tour.

If you haven't been to DLR before, both tours should be interesting.

UPDATE: They have decided that while Walt's apartment it's down, we will get to see THE DREAM SUITE!!! thrilled to receive this news

No kidding... I may see if the wife and I can do that on Sunday after Dapper Day...

I almost think seeing the dream suite is more exciting than the apartment!

Shame you can't just jump right to the suite for $20. I've been on the tour, knew everything BUT one thing inside Walt's Apartment (had to do with his chest of drawers in his closet/bathroom), so the rest of the tour will be merely OK for me.
