No Trips in 2015 turns into 3 Trips in 2015--Update 4/24/15 -- Page 31

I'm here Kathy sorry it took me so long. It is awesome that you have all these trips!!! I am anxiously awaiting all of your BW and DHS pics. We are doing BC in August and I feel lost in that area. Since you were spot on about OKW and Olivia's I look forward to the BW view from your villa!!!

Happy birthday Andy:bday:

Your plans for the day look perfect. Eating, shopping and bowling with your best friends makes for a great day.
I love how you meet people here on Dis and they become not only friends but familiy.

That's a good idea! We will probably need the break. Last trip we met Pooh in the UK and he was the first character Nolan hugged. Here's a picture since my profile pic doesn't quite do it justice.

What an absolutely precious picture. I love it.

If I recall correctly, that was his special band he had to wear for Kali River Rapids the day before. He refused to take it off, lol.

I remember at that age my kids didn't want to take their bands off either.

It's amazing how online relationships form. I've met some great friends through a parenting forum and I'm always impressed by how many of these trip reports involve Dismeets. It's even more impressive when they travel together. Now that is cool!

They are like our long, lost siblings.

Your plans are shaping up! I can't believe it's almost time to book FP+ We may be able to meet up at DVD on the 5th That is a non park, resort day for us too! :yay: Since our resort is next door I should be able to buzz overr! I will FB you
:jumping1:

Clearly I have read a lot of your TRs because when I saw the "explain the relationship" sentence I immediately thought "she's the little sister she never had"!

If we have a rainy day coming up on our March trip, I can see us ending up at Splitsville, I only hear good things about it.

Happy Birthday to Andy...Joe's birthday was this weekend as well!

Happy birthday to your son!

I love the story about DIS friendships. I have been able to do a couple of DIS meets and it really is special how online friends can become real friends.

I am still NOT liking this new site. I have major issues with spacing and all other stuff. I'm going to try replies again.

OOO! New stuff, I like it!

I like to try new stuff too/

Can't wait for the pictures of Trattoria al Forno.

Originally scheduled, then cancelled. But it has been added back for later in the trip for breakfast but still doing dinner the first night.

Shopping! :yay: My favorite. We have to plan at least half a day at DTD to cover our shopping needs, and that doesn't include stuff from the parks.

I hope BoG is great again!

I love to shop. My wallet...not so much. :) I hope BOG is great again too.

Day three plans looking good! And even if Todd needs some extra beauty rest you ladies will have such fun together. :hyper2: :thumbsup2

Yes, we really aren't worried if Todd wants to sleep. ;)

Yeah... I'm not big on sleeping in at Disney World, but I'd approve in this situation. I mean missing breakfast would be a bit of a loss, but sleeping through shopping sounds like a win in my book. :lmao:

Oh he will only be missing breakfast. He will be shopping with us (and bowling too!).

Chocolate cupcake with the grey stuff on top... amazing. :thumbsup2

I don't care for the "grey stuff" but love the chocolate cupcake.

Your morning sounds fun. Can't wait to hear what you think of Spilitsville.

I will since we might be doing it with the girls. :)

Awww... I love the story on how you met Nicki and Todd!!

Thank you. We are truly blessed to have them in our lives.

Can it be May already!? I can't wait to see all the pics!!

I'm with you there. I'm so over winter.

Joining the fun.
:welcome: and thank you so much for joining.

The friendships that I have made on the Dis are like no other so I completely understand that instant bond that you felt with Nicki when you finally met. We had reservations at Splitsville this past trip and ended up canceling. Now, I wish that I had kept it.

Aren't they special, Lisa? I love my DIS friends. I am really looking forward to bowling.

How nice of Mary to hook you up with a 1BR! SWEET!

Isn't it though? I'm very excited.

I don't know all that much about BWV... Out of all the DVC resorts, BWV is the one I know the least about.

We never thought we'd care for it, but it has quickly become a favorite...for atmosphere and convenience.

Hey! I know those kids!

I sure hope so. :rotfl2:

Why stop there?????? You should take all three!

I'm not sure Gabby would let me. :(

Look at the goon in the back right corner.

But all in all a very sweet goon!

We have a dining reservation here:

I was so disappointed in the reuben there... oh well, I hope it is better.

Really? Mark has had it there numerous times and loved it. But we've now cancelled that ADR. :faint:

Oh, I'm working on it.. she is more than welcome to take them.

And you know I would in a heartbeat.

I love the Dis friendship stories. Amazing how we all bond over Disney without even knowing each other, and especially awesome when it can develop into a friendship like what you and Mark have with Nicki and Todd! :disrocks:

Thanks, Wendy. I do too. I've met some really great friends here on the DIS, including you. :)

Great plans! Getting some shopping in sounds really nice.

A Disney vacation would not be complete without some shopping.

Ohhh I've never checked out the breakfast menu at Trattoria al Forno! Must have a look.

Neither have I. :rotfl:

Bowling!! Fun!

Love to bowl so it should be fun.

Happy Birthday Andy!! I hope you guys have a great dinner together!!

pixiedust::bday:pixiedust:

Andy says thank you. We had a nice dinner together and then he was off. :(

Those are such cute pictures of Andy and I hope his birthday is a very happy one! (Although I have to say he looks a bit put out in the baseball picture where he's catching:) Awww the Boardwalk - I absolutely adore the Boardwalk... and those views- lucky you; - I always want to just hang out for a bit on those rockers/chairs on the boards/balcony there and take it in...

Thank you, Patricia. He worked all day, had dinner with us and then went home to do some baseball work...tryouts are next week. :faint:
I'm planning on doing just that...sitting on the balcony and people watching with my coffee.

I'm liking the restaurant choices... I think that Starring Rolls and the Boardwalk Bakery have the best cupcakes on the whole property (the ones at BOG are very good too:)

They are very, very good.

My favorite part of RnR Coaster is that I do it and survive -lol...

I don't survive and that is why I don't do it anymore.

Hi Kathy!

:wave2: Roni.

Loving your BWV upgrade. Our first on-property stay was a one-bedroom BW-view villa - HEAVENLY!!!!!

Oooh...I'm so glad to hear that. I can't wait.

That 6AM flight - I saw Shannon mentioning how it gets you there in time to enjoy the day. Not so much for us - that is the only option for us, and it gets us to WDW in time for dinner if we're lucky.

That's what happens when you are on the oppostie coast. I would definitely add an extra day for that.

What an awesome relationship you have developed with Nicki and Todd -isn't that amazing???? BTW, I'm pretty sure that it was Nicki’s Dining Reviews that introduced me to the love of Disney dining.

Yes it is, and I am so lucky to have met her here. I'm sure it was her reviews. I sure miss her doing them but she doesn't take the long trips anymore.

Nice to hear again the story of how KatMark met NickiTodd - always so amazing when you meet someone and it is like you have known them your whole life.

Isn't it, Phil? I mean it was just instant with us the moment we met at Starbucks.

Plans sound nice - a slower morning getting food and wandering around EPCOT , then DTD , and BOG for dinner. We've never been able to get a dinner ADR for there but have enjoyed lunch - especially that chocolate cupcake :yay:

We are going to do lunch at BOG with the girls in July...it will be a first time for us.

The DISboards seem like so much more than a message boards. You get to meet some of the nicest people. Some of who you instantly click with and become dear friends with. I loving hearing stories like yours with Nicki and Todd. I think it's awesome when friendship and fellowship extend beyond the internet and into real life.

I agree with you. I've had so much support here over the years...it is amazing. And I have new family thanks to the DIS.

Your plans sound like a good mix of slow and fast paced. Who can resist some shopping at DTD? I've heard BoG has been improving over time, so hopefully you will end up with another great meal!

I love shopping at DTD. I hope some of the paths have become more clear. I've never had a bad meal at BOG so I am hopeful.

Dying to hear about Splitsville!!

I will tell you all about it and pictures too. :)

Clearly I have read a lot of your TRs because when I saw the "explain the relationship" sentence I immediately thought "she's the little sister she never had"!

You really have. Thank you. :)

If we have a rainy day coming up on our March trip, I can see us ending up at Splitsville, I only hear good things about it.

I've heard great things about it and am looking forward to it.

Happy Birthday to Andy...Joe's birthday was this weekend as well!

Happy belated birthday Joe. party:

Happy birthday to your son!

Andy says thank you.

I love the story about DIS friendships. I have been able to do a couple of DIS meets and it really is special how online friends can become real friends.

It is. I've become friends with so many here and have traveled with a few and had numerous DIS meets with oethers. I'm glad you've been able to do DIS meets too.

Day 3 sounds like fun! Brandon wants to go to Splitsville so I'm trying to figure out a time to do that, are you reserving a lane? I can't believe you can actually reserve a lane, but apparently you can! He wants to eat there too, but between Raglan Road and my Earl of Sandwich obsession, I'm not sure how much time he thinks we're spending at DTD to eat that much...:rotfl:

And I love BoG! I actually have to get up early and compete with everyone else and try to snag a lunch ADR there tomorrow morning! :faint:

It's really nice to "hear" the story of how you guys became friends with Nicki and Todd ... it's so nice that you were able to get an incredible new friendship from your love of Disney!

I hope you guys have a great time at BOG! It is by far my favorite Disney restaurant (then again, we rarely do TS meals, so I don't have too much to compare it to ... and I've never had food off the menu either).

EMH at Epcot should be a lot of fun, and shopping/bowling is a great way to spend some "down time"! I've never done Splitsville ... but I also haven't bowled in at least 15 years, so I don't really have much interest in it. I'm sure it will be a great time!

I'll be back for replies after I cook and we eat dinner with our oldest son who turned 29 today. Still haven't figured out the math on that one since I was sure I was only 39. Happy Birthday, Andy...we love you to the moon and back.

Happy birthday, Andy!
Parent/Child math never works right. My mom is only 29+ and my sister is 31. Explain that one to me. A child's age has no relation to his/her mother's age.

I think it's so cool that the DIS can bring so many awesome people together! Love this place:cloud9:

I've always wanted to visit Splitsville! Can't wait to see how you like it and what you think of it!

Happy belated Birthday to Andy! What a sweet collage you made :)

We were able to get a BOG ADR for our girls trip in July for lunch (we are doing dinner in May as I posted earlier in this PTR).

It's really nice to "hear" the story of how you guys became friends with Nicki and Todd ... it's so nice that you were able to get an incredible new friendship from your love of Disney!

It really is Sarah. They truly are the most kind, thoughtful, warm-hearted loving people we have ever known.

I hope you guys have a great time at BOG! It is by far my favorite Disney restaurant (then again, we rarely do TS meals, so I don't have too much to compare it to ... and I've never had food off the menu either).

We've never had a bad experience so I am expecting to have another great meal.

We bowl off and on when we go to Dubuque to see the kids; we've not done a league for about six years.

Happy birthday, Andy!

He says thank you.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Now that's funny.

Alicia, I am so with you...so many great people here.

I've always wanted to visit Splitsville! Can't wait to see how you like it and what you think of it!

I will be sure to give a thorough review on it.

Happy belated Birthday to Andy! What a sweet collage you made :)

Thanks; I have been blessed with two boys.

I'm sorry I've not updated since the 19th. I've been swamped at work all week getting my main boss ready for his trip to Naples, Florida, for 31 days. He's out tomorrow and leaves Sunday. I hope to get an update done tomorrow as my other two assignments are also out tomorrow. I will catch up on everyone's threads tomorrow and Sunday. Saturday we are going to Gurnee Mills, a huge outlet mall, and then we are having dinner with IheartDDuck here on the DIS (Danielle) and her parents. So looking forward to seeing them again.

Hey there remember me? The one who lost ALL my notifications on updates? Thankfully i was only 2 pages behind!!! YAY!
I love the new plans!! Bowling! can't wait to hear how you liked Splitsville.
Poor Mark has to miss out this time around really sweet of you guys to hold off to do the T word.. Not even going to try to spell it. OK maybe here Traffittita? LOL!
I have meetings today one back downtown! One of these days maybe we can meet for lunch again.

How funny! We are total birthday twins! I turned 29 on saturday as well.
Now this is stuck in my head:

HOW DID YOU INSERT A YOU TUBE?!?!

Know the feeling about being swamped at work Kathy- I've had that same kind of week! Glad I'm not behind on here then!

Happy belated birthday to Andy! Love the baseball pic of him- totally reminds me of Jared! And I'm guessing that's him with his grandpa in the Goofy hat- very sweet. My dad got my brother and I those same Goofy hats when we went as kids. Wish he'd been here to share trips with my boys growing up, but I know he was always there in spirit!

I know I have a few responses to do and an update, but it's been a long day and I'm wiped.

First, we went to see my grandniece, Mia Rose, for the first time. It was also the first time I had seen/talked to my brother in four or five years. We've had some issues over the year. While we will never be "best friends" it is good to be talking to him again and getting along.

Me and Mia Rose

Tonight, after shopping, we had dinner with IheartDDuck and her mom and Pop. Mom made homemade Belgium waffles and Belgium fries. The food was delicious. We had so much fun...laughing, talking and it is good to see Popadon doing so well after his heart surgery. We are definitely going to make a habit of this meet up.

I will try really hard to get that update done tomorrow and catch up every where.

Sounds like something I can relate to.

Yay for fun dismeets! Glad to see that they are in good spirits after that scare!
