No TomKat wedding?

I just caught the end snippet of something regarding this on the radio this morning, that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will NOT be getting married. Has anyone else heard this?

Hold off on buying that first edition of Dianetics as a wedding present for Tom Cruise and his pregnant fiancé, Katie Holmes.
The buzz is that the engagement of the happy couple has hit a few bumps and, after reportedly tense holidays spent at Holmes' house, wedding plans may have been put on hold, reports MSNBC.com.
With a new year beginning, Cruise ''decided to take the opportunity to mend fences with the family of his fiancé,'' according to the upcoming issue of Life & Style Weekly. It didn't go so well.
''Tom and Katie ended up leaving -- three days earlier than planned,'' according to a ''close friend'' of Cruise. ``Katie was in tears, but that's standard when it comes to dealing with family matters and Tom.''
A spokesman for Cruise denies the story, but there have been previous reports that Holmes' lawyer father is not thrilled with the prospects of the two getting hitched.

Well it's not definate that the Wedding is off. Apparently they got into a big fight over the Holiday when they were at I believe Tom's Family home for dinner, something to do with the way the family was acting, not sure, saw it on the Today Show. I personally don't think their relationship will last, married or not.

Well, my husband and father aren't exactly best buddies (hate is a strong word but in this case it may be applicable) but I wouldn't let it influence my marriage. If they don't marry, I am sure it has more to do with something within their relationship.

I read on MSNBC entertainment that there seems to be an issue regarding her father being an attorney and is trying to pressure them into drafting a pretty substantial prenup that gives Katie$$$ if the marriage ends in less than 5yrs

He family are devout Catholics and her dad is pissed at Tom. I read that at one point when they were dating, TC "promised" they wouldn't have a baby before they got married. This conversation was supossedly reported by Katie's dad. So now, her family is really ticked off and do not get along with TC. I don't think his antics have endeared him either.

Personally, if it were my daughter, I would have some deep conversations about the whole relationship, in my eyes something is really "off" there.

I am hoping that her family is successful in deprogramming her. With regard to the pre nup. Lets not forget what he did to Nicole. He filed for divorce just days before he would have had to pay Nicole a substantial sum of money. Their marriage ended just days before the 10 year anniversary.

Although none of us know what's really going on with them, I do hope her parents are able to talk some sense into her... she truly seems brainwashed.

I bet what really happened was Tom saw Katies Mother popping a few valium after having to deal with Tom's visit.
He then climbed down off the family furniture from which he was jumping all over it in the effort to "lecture" Mom on the dangers of drugs because he knows everything about everything.
At about that point, Katies Dad intervenes and tells Tom to get out of the house and demands the the family couch get replaced.

Another thing. Wasn't there a report that in the very beginning Tom had "interviewed" potential girl friends, one of which was Scarlett Johansson who told him to get lost?
This whole relationship is just too convenient. I hope a DNA test gets done and proves the kid isn't even Cruises and Katie gets her head examined and gets on with her life with someone normal and definately less toothy.

I think her father is her real knight in shining armour. Hopefully she will knock some sense into her brainwashed daughter.

Although I cannot blame Katie, that kind of brainwashing by TC doesn't sound exactly like torture

I seriously think they need to slow down and her dad is absolutely correct in trying to secure her daughter's financial future. If Tom is SOOOOO in love with this woman, why should a healthy pre-nup be a problem?

Are you referring to Scientology, or the cult called "People Who Overdo the PDAs"?

I think you're being a little extreme. I don't even know these people so, while I do *ahem* subscribe to People Magazine *ahem*, I really don't care that much how a celebrity chooses to destroy his/her life.

Maybe this is hitting close to home for you or something. Do you have a loved one who has been knocked up by and is about to marry a couch-hopping amateur doctor?
