Oh, please, oh, please...you don't know me here yet but I would give ANYTHING to save some money on this program. Pleasepleaseplease? Can you tell me exactly how to do it? I am a little computer-challenged.

Kim

I wasn't sure what the other poster was talking about with emailing her, so I just PMed you with a code just in case you never got one from her. If you also end up getting one from the other person, use the one she sent you since she beat me to it.

As for what to do with the code, just follow the directions on the very first post of this thread. Once you get to the last step, input the Buddy Code that you got from this board. It should take off the extra $30.

Thanks...it wouldn't let me send a PM because I guess my post count is too low. I will wait to hear from the first responder (I did send you my email via email).

So, how do you guys like NutriSystem, anyway? I'm looking at the vegetarian plan to kickstart into eating healthier.

I think you can still receive PMs, so they should be there.

I've only been doing this for a couple of days now, but so far the food is surprisingly good. I'll never be somebody who can give opinions on weight loss though, because I have none to lose. I just need to eat a healthier, more balanced diet.

I just assumed she didnt want to post her email on a public board :)
also, how were you able to pm her with an actual code?:confused3 i thought you had to refer someone thru email addys :confused3

PhoenixKim I never received an email at either addy, so if you got the code from formernyer go ahead and use it :) and by the the way..welcome to the DIS

how are the people at nutrisystem posting coupons codes? Are these codes buddy codes I wonder? Maybe they are just NS codes and are not expecting a $30 discount back? I am still trying to earn my first discount!::flower3:

Personally, I have no idea how they are even attaining codes to post and I do not know if the codes are "buddy codes" or not. Perhaps someone who has posted the codes in this thread can enlighten us? This NS food sure is $$$ without codes, IMO. Ah, the price of eating healthy and losing weight I suppose....:)

Some more food reviews:

Blueberry pancakes - not as good as my normal pancakes, but definitely pretty good. I was impressed with the portion size...the mix made 3 decent sized pancakes.

Chicken and Pasta in Cacciatore Sauce - pretty good. The sauce was a bit sweeter than I'd like, but not in a canned Spaghettios way. The portion was a little on the small side, but acceptable considering you're supposed to be eating it with salad, etc.

New Orleans Chicken with Rice - This is NOT what they are advertising and I'm very upset with it. The name calls it CHICKEN, but my serving contained ONE TINY piece of chicken, plus 7 whole slices and about 10 broken slices of smoked sausage. The sauce tastes like smoked sausage. Personally, I'm not fond of smoked sausage and I never would have ordered this item if that's what they called it. It tastes ok and I'm sure people who love smoked sausage will love this, but it's not what they advertised! It needs a lot of salt IMO...I didn't add any, but REALLY wanted to! The other frustrating thing about this lunch entree is the packaging. It looked like it was going to be a big dinner-like serving from the packaging (since it came in a box); however, it's actually in a vacuum-sealed pouch. You need to cut open the pouch, pour the contents into a dish, and literally cut open the entire pouch to scrape out the entire serving. In the end, the serving size is the same, or less, than the other lunch items...just packaged in a lot more frustrating manner. I will NOT order this again!

BBQ Soy Chips - I didn't choose these, but got two of them in my free week selection. I was scared of them :scared1: , but they are actually pretty good. The first one tasted weird, because the initial flavor is sweet and I didn't expect it. Once I got used to it though, it was pretty good. The serving size was excellent...I had 16 chips and they are fairly large/thick. I'll order them again (I never dreamed I was going to like them!)

Chocolate Microwave Cake - serving size was excellent! I mixed the batter in a small circular dish (5" diameter and 1.5" straight sides) and it filled the entire dish. The texture and flavor were both very good, but I thought it could have used a little more sugar (and I don't like overly sweet items). Next time I'll add 1/2 packet of Splenda to it. I will DEFINITELY buy this again...can't wait to try out the Apple one!

Low-Fat Granola Cereal - tastes no different than what you'd get in the store. It was very good! Serving size is small, but that's to be expected. I picked on my dry to make it last longer. If you eat it with milk, it would probably be about 5-6 spoons worth!

Pot Roast - Pretty Good. It had more meat than I expected and the flavor was good. Again, I thought it needed salt, but I was able to eat it without adding any.

Orange Beef with Noodles - This one was a bit disappointing. It was edible, but not great. The orange flavor was more of an after-taste. The noodles were soggy. The beef was more like shaved beef than slices. It was ok, just not great. I doubt I'll order it next time. Serving size was decent.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert Bar - I didn't order this one...it came in my free week selection. It was very good...just not something I would have ordered because it lacks substance. It's kind of like a peanut butter flavored Rice Krispie Treat with a very thin coating of chocolate on top. I found the other desserts to be more substantial, but if you like krispy treats, you'll love this.

OK...I got in trouble yesterday by the disboards...I am not sure exactly what I did and I can't quite figure it out from their warning. In the warning there was something about Nutrisystem....I felt awful since I hate to get in trouble by anyone!

PS my lunch of cream of broccoli soup was not that good. The broccoli remained hard even after I microwaved it a second time!

Southwestern Chicken with Rice - Best I've tasted so far out of the lunches/dinners! VERY flavorful and didn't need salt like everything else I've tried!!!

Hey, what's up with having to add salt and/or pepper to the majority of these NS meals? The only food that I normally add salt to is homemade french fries, and heaven knows those are a food of the past on NS. Perhaps when NS prepares the food, they do not put many spices in them so as not to turn off people who need to eat a diet low in salt?

So far the foods that I have tried have been pretty good....let's hope it continues that way.

Admittedly, I use WAY too much salt in my diet. I guess that's why a lot of these foods seem severely lacking in the salt to me. I've been good about not adding any, but I'd really enjoy them more if I added some.

So - it seems like everyone is getting 5 weeks? I had thought the
first coupon gave you 1 week off each of your first two orders.
then the $50 off coupon gave you another free week. So is it
really just 5 weeks that are coming?

Also - was everyones about 39 pounds? Mine is on the way and that
is the weight. Sounds like a big box.

I'm a bit nervous - I plan to have an open mind, but I do get easily
grossed out. lol

I have heard that if you have used your e-mail address to register with NS then the coupon won't come through. Try a different e-mail address and I will send it out. You can pm me or e-mail me at zexeqw@yahoo.com:thumbsup2

I have been eating with an open mind. Everyone's tastes are different. I am in the beginning stage of this (day 4 of the program) and I have decided to write down the foods that I eat in the journal NS provides. I have eaten a few things that I have struggled to get down my throat. Keep a large drink handy and think about other things while swallowing...it helped me this morning. I had a difficult time getting the cranberry orange pastry down. I ate as much as I could with a cup of coffee (1/2 of it) and let the dog try some and threw the rest out. I don't want to waste if at all possible. If I don't like something, I throw it out after I have eaten half of it. I then don't get anything else to eat. I am finding that the granola bars with chocolate in them are my favorite. Have I had anything yummy...ask me next week, it may taste better when my taste buds have switched from m & m's to NS chocolate! My goal is to make sure that even the gross, yucky tasting foods fill me up.
