No Ticker Needed, I Live 10 Mins From WDW!! (9/9/12)

Nice car! We've been the first to a dealership before. It always makes the seller's day.

:)

Congrats on the new car!

Love your brother's WWOHP costume. :thumbsup2

Have a good New Year!

Thanks!!

Love the car. Have a safe flight and a wonderful night at Disney tonight.

Thanks!!

Safe travels and Happy New Year!! Congrats! on the new car. PS...We got our cruise docs yesterday! :woohoo:

Thanks! Yay :) It's looking like I'll be going sometime this fall. I'll pray for good weather so we don't have to reroute and I'm starting to save up loose change for fun money!

Alright... so, sorry I haven't commented in awhile. RL is a pain in the you-know-what and I've had ZERO DisTime, so now I do have some, I'm getting back up to speed on all my TRs. So, congrats on your new car! :teeth: It looks like you were pretty happy to get rid of the old one, big plus and all these trips I've been reading about seem to be going really well, no more sickness I presume... well... I shouldn't presume too much, but... can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Thanks!! Sickness ending..ha. Just wait...

HI DIS FRIENDS!!!

I hope everyone had a good holiday today :) Happy New Year!!

Last night was really fun! Thanks to Danielle, she gave up her Ohana ADR and we took it! Of course with Ohana you have to be expected for a 2 hour meal (which is was) and there's always a story to tell whether it's about your party or one next to you!

I took food pics and fireworks pics from MK which I'll post at a later date but for the quick story...

We sat down 30 mins past our ADR but no problem, less time we'll have to spend outside in the cold with the crazy drinking people! We ate our bread, got our drinks, ate our salad, and then were piled up with the appetz and entree selections. We kept telling the meat guys to come back that we weren't ready and wasted an hour in doing so! Finally after our food was gone we got dessert. It was dropped off with the check and then we waited. 35 mins finally the server comes back to collect the bill (we're assuming he went on break) and we were on our way by 11:30pm.

No big deal for us but the table next to us..not so happy. They were seated way after us and obviously didn't know about the restaurant, it's history of being slow, and had no idea about the fireworks viewing. I noticed the only tipped $5 for the 2 adults and 1 child in their party. I for one was shocked. Our meal which was 3 adults was $110 and we tipped $20. I guess they should do their research next time and ended up standing next to us for fireworks. ha.

Like I said, there's always a story when you go to Ohana!!!!

IT'S GOOD BUT NOT AS GOOD AS DISNEY!!!

SATURDAY DEC 17, 2011

When I left off, mom and I were on a search for Butterbeer! Dad doesn't care for it so he just got a water and snack but mom and I got pretzels and Butterbeer..yum!!

We walked around the park and decided to go to the Grinchmas show.

155.jpg

158.jpg

160.jpg

The show was cute but not as good as Disney shows!

After the show, we headed for some rides! Mom and I went on the Hulk and the 3 of us went on Dr. Doom (LOVE THAT RIDE!!!)

After the rides we made our way to City Walk to decide where to eat. The choices were Margaritaville (done it), Bubba Gump, and Pastamore. We let bro decide and he chose Bubba Gump so off we went! We stood outside to wait for him to finish work and then decided to head in and wait inside.

We ordered drinks, hush puppy apptez, and I got the stuffed shrimp meal which was to die for!!!!

161.jpg

Our meal was great and our server was fantastic. I think we tipped well over 20% to her! She said a bunch of the stars from Harry Potter were in a month ago and she had their table..lucky girl! We also got all of the Forest Gump Trivia right..yay us!! We didn't win anything.

After dinner we headed to Studios to get ready for the Macy's Parade!

162.jpg

163.jpg

We made a detour and went on Jaws first!

167.jpg

Then back to the parade...

169.jpg

171.jpg

178.jpg

190.jpg

215.jpg

It was good but not as good as Disney!!!!

After the parade we went on Simpsons, Jaws again, and The Mummy!

We finally settled in for some spots to watch MSR at the state by Rip Ride Rocket.

231.jpg

232.jpg

The show was really good but towards the end it began to get cold and we were a tad wet from the last Jaws ride!

We headed back to AKL after the show, got a snack at The Mara, and headed to bed at a decent hour!

~CLP WITH OUR FAVORITE NARRATOR
~SICKNESS STRIKES OUR FAMILY AGAIN..WHO IS IT THIS TIME?!

I always think of Universal, but then I decide against it because I know it's not going to be like Disney. Maybe I should do Universal first then I won't be so disappointed?

Great updates! All caught up now! We loved IOA and plan on another trip there the next time we head down! We loved Bubba Gumps when we went in August tooo....the meals were delicious!

Oooo... that Grinchmas show looks pretty cool! Of course, it can't be Disney, but I think it's nice for some different entertainment at times and Universal looks to be still fairly good. I mean, you can't go wrong with the Grinch :D

Mmmm... Bubba Gump's sounds really good! I love me some shrimp :) And that's so cool how they have Forrest Gump trivia. I need to watch that movie again lol I can't believe your waitress got to serve some of the stars from Harry Potter. I wish you knew who, but still very cool! :thumbsup2

Oooo... I never knew they had a Macy's parade in Universal. That must've been pretty interesting to watch. And that picture of Jaws makes me sad. I'm so angry they got rid of it today. I was so excited to ride that whenever my family went to Universal. *sigh* Hopefully whatever they put there is just as awesome ::yes::

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Your new car is so cute, when I bought my car I went back and forth between a Corolla and a Civic, but I ended up getting a Civic, I love my little car! I just paid it off after 4 years of payments, so I'm happy to have that finished! Now it has to last me 6 more years, because I would really like to get 10 years out of this car! :thumbsup2

Universal looks like it was fun, that parade seems a bit strange though! :rotfl:

Universal is really fun! It's really fun to go and not be used to all the rides like Disney! There's always surprises when we go which seems to not be the case anymore with Disney even though I still :lovestruc Disney!

BG was really good! We're going to try Pastamore next! Their menu looked pretty good too!

They have the Macy's Parade every year at Xmas. I believe she told us who she served because she asked bro where he worked (Forbidden Journey of course) and she said it was 3 of the main stars + the twins I believe?? Maybe a few other ones. I just wonder how much her tip was!!!

My old baby was a Civic and she lasted nearly 12 years so I'm thinking you're good! It had around 150,000 miles on it too!! I'll be paying for the next 5 years but then I'll hopefully have another 5 years off it.

The parade...it almost was like a "cheap" parade that you'd see on any city corner..is that bad?! lol.

CLP

HI DIS FRIENDS!!!

I realized that it has been forever since I updated!!!

Life took over after I got back and I spent last weekend with my aunt and uncle who live in Sarasota. Sickness has struck my classroom this week! We had several kids out with sickness and I got a mini cold a few days ago but it seems to be leaving now which is good!

SUNDAY DECEMBER 18, 2011

I'll preface this by saying we called WDW reservations the day before to modify our CLP ADR from 5 people to 4 since bro's gf would not be joining us and a few days ago mom got a charge for $200 because the CM never cancelled it. Thankfully, mom got a great CM on the phone who issued a credit and everything is good again!

We slept in a little bit and woke up to amazing views again!

233.jpg

234.jpg

237.jpg

Another hopeful day for housekeeping..would we get anything?!

239.jpg

Since it was finally a warm day, we made a collective decision to skip rides at Epcot and to stay at the resort and go to the pool!

Our CLP ADR was at 3:30pm so we left around 2:30pm and parked at Beach Club for our short walk over to Rose and Crown.

We were seated outside which was nice since it was still warm out!

241.jpg

I took a pic of my appetz trio and then forgot to take pics of the rest of it!

240.jpg

Failure on my part!

It took quite a long time to get our entrees and when we got them, moms was cold, dad's was hot, and bro's and mine were just luke warm. Mom asked for hers to be heated up and another 20 mins goes by before she gets a new one :sad2: We thought for sure that a manager would be over to speak to us since it's a very common Disney thing to do and no one ever came over. By the time mom got her meal, we were already done.

We waited for her, ordered dessert, ate dessert, and walked out after a 2 hour meal! That's a very long time for that restaurant! We noticed that several tables around us were there about the same time as well.

The food was just eh. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

After we paid, dad bolted to get in the standby line for CLP and mom, bro, + I went to Germany and hunted ornaments. We each ended up getting 2 each..thanks mom! I also got some Caramel Corn with a snack. I could not believe how big the bag was. It took me 3 days and I finally threw it away unfinished!

At 6pm, we got in line with dad who was right in the front!

We were ready to see Chita Rivera, our favorite narrator!

248.jpg

249.jpg

250.jpg

After the show, Dad stayed to see the last show and mom, bro, and I hit some of the shops!

We met just 15 mins before Illuminations and got settled in the special viewing area!

It was then that dad began to complain how cold it was. The rest of us weren't cold :confused3

Little did we know, it was just the beginning of what was yet to come for Dad.....

Uh Oh, that chill doesn't sound good.

You make me glad I canceled my Rose and Crown reservation in favor of Via Napoli.

If it wasn't for the 24 hour difference, we really would have run into each other at CLP!!!

Sorry that dinner was disappointing! I am surprised about the charge. They aren't supposed to charge if your party shows up with less people, as long as you show up. :confused3

I didn't go to the special Illuminations area. Emma stayed with me to watch Illuminations, so I wouldn't have had two admissions...also, I wanted to be by International Gateway for the end.

It sounds like dad is getting sick! :scared1:

That's funny because we had Via Napoli booked and cancelled it for R and C..wishing we had kept it! I still haven't eaten there yet!

When we had called reservations the day before, the girl just rebooked the reservation for 4 but never went back and cancelled the one for 5. The lady in billing was able to look it up and saw it was never processed which was good!

Well luckily, you can go to the viewing area any other time except during CLP unless there's a private party!!

I am really surprised that no manager came to see you, hmph.

Ya us too :confused3 We never complained but we thought it was pretty standard of Disney to send a manager over when food was sent back. Even when she got the food again, it wasn't piping hot as it should have been but at that point we were done...I guess we'll chose something else next time!

!

We have canceled our VN adr's in the past too but finally tried it on our December trip with lunch on our first afternoon. It was great! We ended up going back for dinner one night too :) The first day we had the 4-cheese pizza ... Yum! We split the 'individual' size one and it was plenty. For dinner we had an appetizer (shrimp) and then the pizza plus zeppoli (ricotta cheese fritters) with whip cream & chocolate sauce for dessert (and sangria of course!) Looking forward to having the same on Saturday night! Then off for our cruise on Sunday!! :cool1:

YAY FOR YOUR CRUISE!!!!!!!

I can't wait to hear about it! There hasn't been talk of mine recently so April won't be happening but I'll pray for Oct!!!

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST...PART I

HI DIS FRIENDS!! I hope everyone had a good week!

Sadly, I came down with the stomach bug on Sunday night. I was off work Monday for the holiday and ended up taking Tues and Wed off (paid thank goodness!!) I'm 100% now and pray I never have that again for a very long time!!!

In other news..I have a new roomie!! My old roomie has a new job back in New Orleans and is gone for good. Her friend "J" moved in last night and I'm happy to have her! She works events around WDW (mainly Epcot) and works nights so it should be pretty similar to when "S" lived here! I'm happy to be able to save more money!

I have applied with Universal as Seasonal Attractions and have an interview next Friday!!! I hope when I go in, they don't try to say it's only FT/PT because I only put Seasonal and that I was a teacher. Hopefully they read that!! It would be nice to work at another park and get some spending money for the summer!! WISH ME LUCK!!!

Tomorrow and Sunday I get to spend my weekend in training classes for work. We have to have 20 additional educational hours/professional development so I'll be spending the 82 degree weekend inside...sad day!

NOW FOR THE REPORT...

MONDAY DECEMBER 19, 2011

We slept in AGAIN!!

It was pretty evident that we were not going to make any rope drops this trip. I guess now that mom and dad have their passes, it doesn't matter so much anymore!

251.jpg

252.jpg

I swear the room kept getting smaller and smaller (smaller than WL rooms) but that view NEVER GETS OLD!!!

We decided to spend the morning at DHS.

Bro stayed at the resort to sleep but mom, dad, and I went.

It was when we got there that dad was a little slower than usual...

**I did not take ANY pics at DHS at all, failure..**

We got FP for TSM, rode TOT, RnR, Star Tours, Great Movie Ride, TSM, and headed out for the day.

Dad was pretty sluggish at that point and decided he would eat lunch and take a nap while mom and I hit the pool! When we got back, bro had gone to his apt to..I'm not really sure why he went lol.

We walked in to such an amazing surprise!

It was honestly the best mousekeeping we've ever had at WDW. That CM went above and beyond and it was amazing! I ended up giving her a guest satisfaction card the next day! It was obvious that her days off were Sat/Sun because we had awesome Xmas touches when we checked in and that day as well. Oh well..we were glad to have her one day at least!

Dad took his nap while mom and I got lunch and went to the pool.

We found seats at the pool and enjoyed ourselves. Mom napped too!

I enjoy that pool. Is it my favorite on property..no (too many shaded areas!) but it's a very nice pool with plenty of seating! I haven't been to that pool in the summer but would be curious to see how busy it gets!

After our few hours at the pool, we got dressed to head to DHS and MK..

and..

Dad gets worse...

**Have a good weekend!!**

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST PART II

Hi Dis Friends!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I survived my two seminars yesterday and today! I'm glad to say that I have 16 hours done and only 4 to go! I had a mini breakdown last night over my future/education. I have 5 years to complete 24 credits to keep my PA teaching cert, 4 years to complete 6 credits to keep my FL teaching cert (must be done in FL), and possibly a 2-3 year training for my Montessori job which can't be transferred to college credits :scared1: Thankfully my parents who often keep me grounded and remind me to breathe, assured me that everything will work out!! It's good to have them around from time to time!!!

I'm sad the weekend is over but I'm hoping the 80 degree temps this week will continue into the weekend so I can work on my tan either at my apt pool or water park!!

TRIP REPORT TIME...

MONDAY DECEMBER 19, 2011

When we left off, mom and I were at the pool, dad was napping, and bro was at his apt.

At 5:30pm, we decided to head out and hit up DHS for the lights!!

By that point dad was fading quickly but he loves the lights so he pushed on!

285.jpg

286.jpg

We took the bus to DHS and arrived in no time!

313.jpg

We stayed for just over an hour before heading out. We do really love those lights!!! I was glad I got some good quality time with them and bro showed us where the purple cat was!!!!!

As we were walking out, I suggested to dad that he just head back to the resort, take cold meds, and go to bed but he insisted on joining us for MK.

We got to MK and our first stop was Jungle Cruise. Bro's gf works there seasonally and we wanted her boat but..she was headed to break when we arrived! We rode in another boat (probably the best one ever!) and decided to come back later for hers.

After riding, dad decided to call it quits and went back to the resort.

HE WAS LEGIT SICK NOW!!!

Mom, bro, and I went to CHH for dinner and I got the salmon again! It was just as good as it was in Nov!!

321.jpg

We went back after dinner and rode in bro's gf's boat which was a good one too! After the ride, we said bye to her and made our wait to main street for the fireworks! We had decided at that point to call it quits after the show. Bro had to work at 5:30am and we had to check out of the resort so we watched, had some tears, and went on our way!

MONDAY DECEMBER 20, 2011

**Sorry, no more pics!**

We slept in, AGAIN.

Mom and I packed up and went to the pool for a few hours while dad slept.

We got late check-out for 1pm and thankfully we did! Dad insisted on me taking his sickly self to my apt before the airport at 2:30 so I did...then disinfected my apt later that night!

After dropping him off, mom and I went to POP to get lunch/dinner for me and snacks. I really love their food court! AKL's got old after several days!!!

We ate and went back to fetch dad who was so sick at that point :(

I took them to the airport, dropped them off, and they were on their way.

Dad went to Urgent Care after they got home in Cincinnati and had: Sinus Infection, Bronchitis, Ear Infection, and a touch of the stomach bug (24hr of it). He ended up being sick for 2 whole weeks!!

TUESDAY DECEMBER 21, 2011

Due to flight prices, I flew home the following day and flew into Columbus. The 3 of us had a nice Christmas and I got some great apt gifts and other things as well!

FINAL THOUGHTS...

Overall, it was a great Dec trip!!

We hate when one of us falls ill during a trip but thankfully it happened at the end!

We enjoyed the QS DDP but I would not suggest getting it if you will miss more than 3 or 4 meals with it. Bro and I were able to get meals to eat for dinners after mom and dad left but with dad being sick and not eating, going to Universal, and CLP package, we had a ton of credits left!!

Not many can say they go to WDW and come home with a new car!!!

Thank for following along and hopefully there will be more adventures in the future...like spring break...maybe....

Your poor dad! He really did end up being really sick. That stinks. :(

Mmmm, that salmon is bringing back some great memories. That was soooo good!

Sorry I got a little behind, but I'm caught up now!

AKL looks beautiful, that tree looks amazing! It looks just as nice as the one in WL! :thumbsup2

I miss the Osborne Lights already. I feel like I didn't spend enough time there on our DHS night. :sad2:

I can sympathize with your dad, I was sick on my trip too, but definitely not that sick! :scared1:

Time to catch up!

YAY on having an interview at Universal. That would be fun and you're right, it's nice to have some extra spending money!

Wow, that mousekeeping job is awesome! How fun to find your room like that. I'm jealous. LOL.

Gorgeous pictures from AKL. I love it there. And of course I like all the Christmas pictures. Our 11-month booking window is coming up in a few days so hopefully we'll book something and I'll get to see the decorations in person again this year. *fingers crossed*

Guess what..HE'S STILL SICK!!! He finally broke down and went to the dr that mom and I have gone to in Cincinnati! He has an ear infection still and still a touch of sinus infection so on a Zpack he goes!
