As the Halloween golf cart parade began last week, we noticed that people were holding bags of candy, but no one was throwing anything out. One of the participants hesitantly called out that "they" told them not to throw anything.
Huh????
So they started HANDING them out of their carts. Seems like this is even more dangerous! Having kids run up to the carts to be handed candy/toys.
Finally, a few minutes later, some hesitant participants just began throwing the candy and everyone else followed suit. Pretty soon, it was back to the golf cart parade that I knew and loved. For a minute there, it was a bit boring....the kids were disappointed that no one was throwing anything and the participants seemed a little baffled themselves....they had bags of candy and nothing to do with it!
The security guys rode back and forth on their bikes during the parade and didn't stop the participants from tossing out the candy.....so I guess it was okay? I don't know. We were just spectators so I don't know what was said at the hitching area.
Is this the first time they've been told not to toss out candy?
