We are arriving 11/29 at BLT for 4 nights in a lakeview studio. We just went thru 8 days of no power, our house is ok, but many others in our community of South Amboy and Sayreville lost homes and even jobs when the local Foodtown decided to shut their doors with little warning. Its a sad place up here in Central NJ.
We are so grateful to be able to still go to WDW, stay at BLT, visit my sis and bil at the Villages, go to the Disneyana Fan Club convention at the Contemporary and then go to the AllEars Dessert reception at Epcot. We are blessed and have absolutely no room requests, we just need to feel happy again.

We did something similar when we got flooded a few years ago. We got the remediation company over to start removing all the mess and started working on getting a contractor to make repairs. We had a WDW reservation so we went for the week+ and got away from all the mess. When we got home, the mess was gone, walls were, too, inside the house, and we got back to making the repairs. Enjoy your respite from all the problems in your area. If nothing more than the mental health aspect.

Good for you!!! Actually, we rarely make room requests anyway. I think it's fun to "take what you get" since it makes me experience it all.:thumbsup2

Wishing you some pixie dust! You sound like you have a wonderful attitude and that is one of the best ways to ensure a magical trip!

Wait, what??!?!?! Mr. P closed Foodtown? The one on Bordentown Ave? Permanently? OMG! I feel terrible for everyone who worked there. I just hope it wasn't because something happened to a family member during the storm.

I grew up in Sayreville (Oak Tree East) and my mom still lives there but she was very fortunate to only have 2 days without power. Actually, she is going to be arriving for a visit on the 29th too. How funny would it be if you were all on the same flight! Glad you're doing okay.

Just returned from our trip, and it was one of our best yet. I agree, room requests are not a big deal for us, but we did one this trip. North side even number. Was hoping to get a view of the castle from the balcony so the kids could watch the fireworks one night. It worked out for us, but being from NJ and not suffering any damage from the hurricane, yes we felt extremely fortunate to be at Disney last week.

I also live in NJ. It's been a tough couple of weeks. You deserve a WDW trip. Enjoy

My heart goes out to all of you in Jersey. I am a Long Islander and saw some of the devestation throughtout the tri-state area. I consider myself very lucky. We have friends who have also lost their homes and cars. Enjoy this vacation and your time with your family. Everything else is just material. We are all strong and, somehow, will get through this.

I hope you have a fantastic time!!!! Im in Marlboro, NJ and we didn't have much damage to our house, but no power for 6 days. But my hometown of Keansburg was hit very bad, my family was safe, but the town is horrible :(
Anyway, have a great trip and i hope the weather is nothing but warm and sunny the whole time there!!!! :)

We checked in around 5PM after taking DME. We were assigned 7509 which is on the fifth floor. We have a lovely view of the pool and lake on the north side looking down at the shuffle board court. The best part is that the 5th floor connects to the sky bridge to the contemporary so it makes it easy for us old folks to get to the Contempo Cafe and also the Monorail. We have a lakeview studio. Perfect for two people.
