Why on earth do they not have spas at the Poly??? I really enjoy being able to soak after my commando days in the parks. Is this a deal breaker to anyone? Maybe swimming is enough, but I think it is really strange that they wouldn't even have one hot tub...

You can always try the spa at the Grand Floridian since it's the next stop along the Monorail, so you won't have far to go.

There is a spa within walking distance or 1 monorail stop at the GF. My wife used the spa last year during our stay to the Poly and loved it.
There is a hottub...of sort.
In my opinion, the best place to watch wishes at the Poly.
On the far side of the pool, closest to the GCH, there are seats in the pool. Behind those seats are the jets that feed the pool with hot water. On top of that if you get the right seat, the water coming out of the the GCH (From the waterfall) will splash on your back. Grab a seat there, listen to the wishes music which they pipe in and watch the fireworks. We did it every night we stayed there, one of our best memories.

I believe as long as you get a manicure or whatever, then they will allow you to come and use their spa. My wife got a manicure and pedicure our first day we stayed at the Poly, and she was able to use the spa afterwords.

That is correct because you pay for the services the Grand Floridian spa offers, so it is not just for the guests who stay there.

Wow I need to stop reading so fast. I just saw "soaking" and "commando" and the thread had a whole different direction :scared:

The Grand Floridian Spa is available to Poly guests at no charge -- for workouts, locker room use, their hot tub, etc...so its not hopping and you don't have to pay.

YOU CAN pay to have a service there as well and also use the workout area, the locker room the hot tub. This is an indoor facility so it isn't like sitting outside at a hot tub and also they have limited hours - can't remember what time they close.

That's right because the Polynesian does not have a health club for all the things you mentioned, so they share it with the Grand Floridian.

Now I'm confused. :confused3

It sounds like two different things are being discussed on this thread -- the Grand Floridian Spa and the Grand Floridian hotel's hot tub (some people might call it a "spa"), which is right next to the pool. I would think that using the hot tub by the pool would be pool hopping, whereas using the Spa facilities is permitted for all resort guests. Is there also a hot tub in the Spa?

I think the hot tub at the Spa is the one anyone can use, where as the hot tub by the pool is only for guests staying at the Grand Floridian.
