No sites in Oct

Tried to get Halloween weekend starting on thursday and using multiples of a week to 8 weeks. No sites. This cant be possible..right ??

It very well could be as Halloween has become a very popular time at the Fort. Many folks book it as far in advance as possible.

Keep trying various lengths of time over various means (calling, online, etc) because maybe they have a block of capacity they haven't released yet or you could snag a cancellation.

A final suggestion would be to contact Rhonda (a poster on these boards) who is a Travel Agent with Dreams Unlimited (a sponsor of the DIS). She has helped many campers at the Fort and could advise you on what the real story is and get you a ressie if there is one to be had. And there is no fee to using a Travel Agent - they earn their commission from Disney so it would be win-win.

yes I tried online and used friday 29 as checkin and varied the length of stay from 5 days to 8 weeks. No go. thx for the tip ed.

Keep calling every other week or so. It will be so worth the effort to visit the Fort at this time of year. For the past several years, we have always made it to the Fort at Halloween,and it has been our favorite time.

Since my daughter is going from a year round school calendar to a regular school schedule, our October Fort days are over for a while. In fact, I am on the phone right now trying to piece together Fort ressies for the week after Christmas. I was running into the same issues as you. At first they said there was nothing availble for the entire month of December, but I kept calling and have manged to get the 26, 27 and 30th. I am trying to backfill the remaining days. I will not give up, and neither should you....
People's plans change, and days will open up.

Disney plays this game all the time. Put in for a stay of about 2 weeks or more and the sites usually will magicly appear. After you make your reservation call back and cancel the dates you don't want. There is no penalty for canceling as long as you do it at least a week before you arrive. If they want to play the game so can we.

well, I put in for up to 8 weeks stay..just to see..still nothing..will call since we are passholders and see if we can get some dates. This whole releasing of blocks of dates kinda sucks.

..I apologize. I posted because I could not get in with dates that varied from oct 27 thru dec 20 with all different increments of stay periods. Maybe a online glitch? Needless to say..I certainly do apologize...


..can you also cancel a check in date? and reapply a date more suited to when you are actually..ah..arriving?

I had issues starting last year when they released 2010 dates. It's a big pain in the butt to deal with.

If you want to cancel your trip entirely, you have to do that 6 days out. Anything within that 6 days, you will be charged the one night stay. So if you're already staying one night, you can cancel that night the day of without penalty. You just have to do it before night time.

I've done it before, made weekend ressies for Fri-Mon, and sometimes we'd have to cancel the friday night cause we wouldn't have enough time to get there, and we'd check in on saturday instead.
