Hi! I am about to launch back into a no refined carb diet and I am hoping there are others on this board doing similar diets looking for support. I have been successful with this style of eating in the past, and I also know that the first week will be the most painful! I find that once passed the first few days of depriation, I can live happily with out sugar, flour, white potatoes and rice and such rather happily.
A little about me: I am 33 and I have yo-yoed my way to being heavier than I am willing to claim. I am determined to lose weight and gain better health for the long term, but with my first week long WDW trip in June 2012 as extra motivation.
Who's with me? Anyone else looking for a support community?

MrsGumdrop! an alaskan cruise....ahhh....sounds soooo heavenly!
my understanding of this complex issue is that my body is wrongly breaking down protein into sugar. so not only breaking down carbs into sugar, but protein as well. and when the protein runs dry it searchs more out and breaks down muscle. lovely, huh. you can only imagine this process makes a person gain weight, which i have. i don't know at this point if i'll be able to lose weight....but i'm in a vigorous pursuit of a confirmed diagnosis...it's just a really hard one to confirm. or so i keep being told. until then, i figure i can start to reprogram my eating habits and use what i've learned to my advantage. i really don't want to gain any more weight during this whole ordeal.
Count down with me.
I am doing a clean eating plan that also calls for no sugar. I am not having any white carbs at all, and it is tough.
