No Segmenting anymore?

I was just thinking about our trip to SSR and it would be great to have regular DDP on day one...then QSDP the rest. Is there any chance of doing that anymore? Could I cancel SSR then rebook it into two segments? That would require changing rooms though right?

I think the only way to do this is to have two seperate room types. SSR does not really have views to choose from, so you could get a 1BR for the first night and a studio for the remaining. I not know your situation, so that is just an example.

You could also go to another resort the first night and then to SSR for the rest of the trip.

If you try to have create two seperate reservations with the same style room, they will eventually bridge the two into one reservation and thus one dining plan.

Hhhmm... can't do different size villas too many of us. Going to a different resort for June 16th only... that would mean 3 resorts total. I'll check whats available then maybe make the change! Thanks!

Well just about every two bedroom on property is available for that night. But do I really want to move resorts 3 times for one night of regular dining??? I guess not..what a pain that would be!

could you cash pay for one night and use points for the remainder, and thus get your reservation segmented? Seems counter-intuitive, but you'd get the points back (assuming you're not w/in 30 days or some other restriction) and I think DVC members get discounts on cash reservations? I'd be curious as to whether it would be worth it.

You would be susceptible to having to move, but it would seem the front desk could work that out.

A DVC Member Cash reservation through Member Services is the same as a points reservation, it would likely be linked and considered a single reservation for the purposes of a DDP. Now, if they book it as a discounted Annual Pass room, they could likely make the DDP as they want, but it would likely involve having to change rooms.

I will be staying at AK this June and separated the first night from the rest with the same type of room. The asked me the reason and I told them because I wanted to only get the DxDP the first night and nothing the rest and they said ok. I know that most likely I will have to change rooms, but that's ok since we are getting there after 4 PM, so we will just pack out bathing suits and pijamas in a small bag to use that night. I would say try and see what they say.
