OK, so I haven't been to WDW during the holidays in about 5 years. We go to WDW about 5 times a year, but haven't been in awhile during Christmas. Boy was I shocked by the changes. I posted on the MVMCP thread about the lost of things at the Christmas party (closed rides, long lines because of only 2 picture areas). But I have to say my visit to MGM was a disappointment. No hat on earful tower. What's with that? When we went to MGM on Saturday the 11th, we had a wait of more than 30 minutes to get through the turnstile....yes you heard that. The line for the Osborne lights started by superstar TV building and stretched all the way to NY street. And where are the 3-D glasses? Does anyone know what I'm talking about. I still have mine from my trip a few years ago. That was the best part.

I think early Decemeber is becoming more and more popular. Pretty soon January is going to be the only "quiet time" of year. I think the previous season's hurricane's added to the crowds as well. A few other Diser's mentioned the 3-D glasses being gone as well.

I'm not sure about the glasses, but the crowds in December have been growing in the past few years. I think a lot of people hard about the parks being empty and decided to take advantage of this "quiet" time of year, and now it's becoming more and more busy! Also due to the bad hurricanes this year a lot of people had to postpone their vacations and leave in the middle to avoid the storms, and many of them rescheduled to come back at this time of year to take advantage of the XMas festivities!
