DH and I found super cheap flights in a couple of weeks from MI to Orlando and thought it would be fun to do a quick non-park getaway, but still have to advantages of the DME and staying on property (Disney Springs, monorail bar crawl, checking out the Boardwalk at night). However, there a no value rooms available! Thinking it was a fluke, I checked out a bunch of dates (mostly Wed-Sat) through Jan. and Feb. and found the same thing! I even picked a date in May and it was booked! Geez! I don't remember a time when I couldn't find at least one value room last minute. Especially in January! Am I doing something wrong with my search, or have times changed? Any tricks or tips for catching a room after a cancellation?

I would call and double check.

It’s definitely possible they’re all booked. There are a lot of rooms out for refurbishment or other things. I think I’ve seen at least 1500?

Also, times have changed. There are a lot of youth groups in January-February, followed by Spring Break crowds, followed by dance competition groups after Easter.

I found pop century for W-F in late January ... looks like Friday night might be the limiting factor?

Likely a variety of factors.....
  • A lot of mod rooms out of inventory pushing people up and down the scale
  • Disney's booking algorithms lately have not been all that kind to shorter stays; maybe tinker your dates a bit and see if you have different results
  • Tour groups/competitions who favor the values
  • If your dates overlap with MLK weekend, that could be a factor
  • WDW is as popular as ever, 365 days a year
Good luck OP, hope you can find something.

Not sure if you're using My Disney Experience but it's been wonky all week. It's worth a call in case their app/site is acting up.

I'm leaving in a couple days. I triedd in Mid-December and couldn't find any combination of dates in the first half January for 3 or 4 nights. Finally I ended up booking four separate one night reservations at Pop Century (three standard, one standard pool view) and kind of resigned myself to the hassle of that. But a couple days later I called the 407wdisney number and explained my dilemma to the CM. She was able to merge all my reservations into one four nights standard room with one confirmation number for me.

So try all the different room offers, try one night at a time, time different combinations of nights, and after you get most of it straightened out, call them to clean it up for you.
