No rooms avail. at WDW/Cancellation Policy change

Good morning all, hope you're doing okay.

I have been looking at this website every once in a while to see the changes in weather. There is a cam set up on the beach by Port Canaveral. Normally you watch it to see the cruise ships go by.

I'm still thinking and praying for you all in the path of this hurricane.

I have a question before I go to bed. We have a trip planned for 10/1-10/9. I paid for the travel insurance through Disney. The people who are canceling, did you have insurance or are they letting anyone cancel with no penalty? With Ivan lurking out there I'm getting paranoid. As my record shows on page 8, I am a hurricane magnet! Goodnight everyone, I will check the thread in the am. Stay safe!!

Everyone, regardless of whether they purchased travel insurance or not, is allowed to cancel or rebook without paying any penalty.

Limabeanmom2003, I was wondering the same thing as Sabeking. We are going down 10/8 (checking in 10/9). If we were to cancel/reschedule (if Ivan or another comes in), will WDW honor the package we booked? I booked back in Feb or Mar. with the Disney Visa New Cardholder pay for 4 stay for 7 deal. Would they still honor that even though it has expired & had to travel by 10/31. Does this make sense, what I'm trying to ask??

That's a good question! We moved our vacation ahead 3 days, and they still honored the 5 + 2 deal. I am not sure if they would have still honored it if we had tried to move it to, say, November, when the promotion was not effective for November. I would hope that WDW would be very accomodationg in these types of situations. They don't want you to cancel and not rebook.

Good Luck! I am sure that your October vacation will be fine. We have gone a few times in October and it is a lovely time to be at WDW.
