What happens if there already 2 scooters on the bus when it arrives at your stop? Do you wait 20 minutes for the next bus or does Disney send a bus sooner? Years ago there was a rumor that.Disney had to stop loading pax, dispatch the bus and send.a other bus. I don't think this is currently true, or if it was ever more then an internet rumor.

My concern is at a resort like CSR. Is it possible guests staying the tower, last stop in the resort will having to wait an hour or more until a with space arrives?

Yeah, you’ll have to wait for the next one. Depending on destination and (if applicable) what stop you get on at, it can be a long time. Unless there’s a bus supervisor there and he calls in for another bus for a mobility device.

You wait for the next one. It happened to me at BWV when there were already 2 scooters waiting.

There are still a few of the buses left that have 3 places for mobility devices in service; it is possible that one of those could roll up.

Make sure you either ask a CM at the bus stop or the driver to call for another bus please.

When we stayed at POR (4 stops) we would either add an hour to travel time, or take the extra 10 minutes to walk to the "first" stop in the loop, so that I had a chance of getting a spot.

If you’re staying at Saratoga, ask for a room in the Grandstand as it’s the first stop and has a high likelihood of having room for the scooter.
I haven’t had issues staying at the Paddock or Congress Park… but I tend to leave shortly after rope drop when fewer people are traveling.

Whatever you do, don’t stay at Springs which is the last stop. Even off hours, the disability spots may be taken. If you are rope dropping you will wait… and wait… and wait. Put your ECV on rabbit and scoot on over to Granstand!

one possible issue with being at the first resort stop is that if you are going to a park when many guests are coming ‘home’, the spots might be already filled with guests who will be getting off at a later spot.

I'll be staying at the tower in CSR. The tower is the last of 4 bus stops, going to the parks. Going back isn't the issue. I can see how many scooters are in front of me.

Scooter to the first stop and returning guests might occupy scooter spots. Last stop and spots might be already occupied.

Will Disney dispatch an extra bus? They frequently will if the bus has to skip a stop, full bus. Is there a phone # to call?

Should I plan on using Mears taxi or MV?

It's really hit or miss as to what will happen. I've had them send another bus right away. But then, I've also had it where I had to wait 20 minutes for the next bus. Occasionally there hasn't been a CM at the bus stop. And one time I had to wait through 2 buses that had both their ECV spots already taken, so it was a very long wait.

Yes. That was my experience when we used to stay at POFQ. After three buses left, because they were full, my husband went to the front desk and they called for another bus to our bus stop. They also gave us two fast passes for our inconvenience. After that, we always got up early to avoid full buses.

Like Mamabunny said, be sure to politely ask the bus driver to call in and let them know there’s another scooter waiting. Many times another bus arrives in less than 10 minutes.
But be prepared to wait longer on occasion…just part of the process. We have sent one scooter and the rest of the party on one bus and I’ve waited for the next bus to come, as well, when we have traveled with a second scooter in our group.

And not to be "that guy" but this is why it's often recommended to just bake at least an extra hour into your travel time at WDW.

POR/POFQ are literally right across the street from EPCOT, but if all of the spots are full when the bus arrives, then it can take just as long to get to EPCOT as it does AK or MK; maybe longer.

We now budget an extra $50/day for Minnie Vans for every trip. That way, if we decide to, we can always call for a Minnie Van instead of playing "Bus Stop Roulette" to see if we will have a place on the next bus. That's a personal solution to the problem; not everyone has the ability to add that as a line item to their budget. Minnie Vans don't always cost $50/ride; that's just an average figure we use right now.

Some days, we never use it at all... other days we use it 2 or even 3 times, depending on our schedule.

Ironically, we tend to use the Minnie Vans most when staying at Deluxe Resort hotels; it doesn't feel like they get fewer buses per se, but most of them have at least 2 methods of travel (for example: at Poly you have boat, bus or Monorail) and I think that sometimes is reflected in the bus schedule. WL is the only deluxe we stay at regularly where we don't have to wait (on average) for the next bus. Don't understand how or why, it's just always been that way for us.

You can also get a Mears taxi van. Drive up a ramp. Regular taxi price. More then a basic ride share but less then a MV.

ECV guests at POP know how many scooters are ahead of the. You'll be loading into an empty bus.

Just an FYI: the title of your thread here is in all caps - no need to shout ;)

I’m glad to know this and Minnie Vans are an option, I may try to budget some extra for this for a few times we have extras or ADRs we have to make.

Do you request the Minnie Vans in the MDE app and the Mears Taxis from the Mears app?

Some resorts are running some non-accessible buses now, like I saw several at AKL. This would mean you are stuck waiting for the next bus.

If you happen to be timed with a bunch of other ECVs, this can be a wait. This generally isn't an issue for us, but it was frustrating when it happened.

They aren't going to send a bus special for you. They do run more at peak times, like park open/close, so they are running more frequently then. Bigger resorts have more buses. You actually might do better with the constant Pop buses than the spaced out AKL buses, even though it's a MUCH more expensive resort.

Minnie vans are branded Lyfts. You book them in the Lyft app.

Thank you both so much. Knowing this option exists eases some of my stress about getting to and from the parks with an ECV at Christmas

It is also real fun when one of those charter buses shows up that can't accommodate any wheelchairs/ECVs. Luckily that only happened once on our last trip.

To be honest, in the last 10-12 years, we have only had to wait because of not enough spaces on the bus a couple of times. And that is when we were at AOA, which just has SO MANY people and the end of the night is a madhouse.
