June 28th for dinner in DTD - no T-Rex is available on line WDW ressie site and RFC only has 5 pm to early and 9 pm to late ADR's.

So we picked Plant Hollywood at 7 pm.

How is Planet Hollywood ?
Do they accept Disney Gift cards as payment ?
Any discounts found anywhere for Planet Hollywood?

We are DH, DW, DS age 20 and DD age 17

Do you think we will enjoy Planet Hollywood?
It will be our DTD shopping night :goodvibes

Thank you ! ;)

to be honest...don't go to any of those.

overpriced mediocre food.

I always recommend wolfgang pucks...both the quick serve (which is the best food on the marketplace side) and the cafe or quick serve on the west side

Planet Hollywood is ok. what about Raglan road, Paradiso 37 or House of Blues? We enjoy Wolf Gang Puck Express even though it is a Counter Service it has great food & service.

Call T-Rex Direct and you should be able to get a reservation

their number is 1-407-828-8739

Sorry I do not have a number for Rainforest Cafe

On an added note, we love Planet Hollywood they have a great menu something for everyone IMO and if you bought a pkg from Disney there is usually a voucher in it for PH

For kids that age, Planet Hollywood may be a good choice. It's "themed" in a quirky, pop-culture sort of way, not exactly a Disney vibe.

It's often loud, and the food is nothing out of the ordinary, but it's a different sort of experience. Just be sure you make a reservation - the walk-up line can be quite long. (Sounds like you did.)

I have charged PH to my room, so I would think it very likely that gift cards would be accepted.

We enjoy Planet Hollywood, and for your kids age I think it will be perfect. It is a loud place but the atmosphere is like previous post pop/todays vibe, with a live dj, the props and decorations are really cool.

Enjoy :cool1:

We have eaten at all three. Our DDs are younger but we liked all of them. I agrre that if you call T Rex direct you should have no prob getting an ADR. We actually go to Planet Hollywood every trip. We enjoy the memorabalia on the walls. It is loud and the food is comparable to a TGIFridays, but we enjoy it. Have fun!:)
We might be there the same time, the end of June, if all works out!:worship:

I agree you should call T-Rex or RFC directly. I don't think you'll have a problem getting an ADR this early. They save a lot of their reservations for people who call the restaurant. To me, both of these restaurants have fairly good food & huge portions for the price (for WDW prices anyway). We've enjoyed our visits.

We stopped going to PH years ago. At the time, the portions were huge, & the food mediocre. The noise level became too much for us. It is crazy loud in there. If you don't mind yelling at your server & at each other to talk, your kids will probably like it.

HOB is very good. It's probably our favorite DTD restaurant that we've tried*. We've been there several times & always had good meals.

RR has been our least favorite. We've been there twice & it was 2 times too many. We didn't like our meals there at all.

*We haven't tried Bongos, Portobello, Fultons, Paradiso 37, & Cap'n Jacks. We'll be trying Portobello in a couple weeks. Our guests always want to go to T-Rex, RFC, & HOB, so it's hard to get to all of them.

Thank you so much for the T-Rex phone number.
Yes it worked !

We have T-rex now for June 28, Thursday @ 7 PM :cool1:

I cancelled the Planet Hollywood ADR for anyone who wants it.

We have a Landry Select card, which I think gets you a discount in the gift shop:goodvibes

We can not wait to try T-Rex :goodvibes

Thank you for the Landry info !

I looked at the T-Rex menu... with the Chocolate Extingtion dessert to be shared at the end of our meal....we total about $100 - not bad for a family of 4 at WDW.

Even when we go out to dinner locally, it costs us about $70 to $80 :rotfl:
