Hi everyone
so I know that Disney World no longer requires a park specific reservation (am I correct?)
are there any rules in regard to park hopping? Can it only be done after a certain time?
Do we go to one park, then wait then can go to any other park, then another park again if we wanted or are we limited to the number of parks we can hop in a day?
Thanks in advacne

Thanks for asking this. Following as I was about to ask this same question!

No park reservations are required for many types of tickets. The only tickets that don't have any park reservation restrictions are the more recent Date-based tickets. Date based tickets are ones that have a start date and are only valid for 14 days or less.

What type of tickets will you have?

Yes. if your ticket that requires a park reservation, you can enter any park after 2 PM without a park reservation. The exception is for Annual Pass holder to MK on weekends. For AP at MK, you need a park reservation even after 2 PM to enter MK if it is your first park of the day. And to make it more complex Disney make make some days as "Good to Go" which means AP Pass holders don't need a reservation for any park on those days.

Do we go to one park, then wait then can go to any other park, then another park again if we wanted or are we limited to the number of parks we can hop in a day?
Once you enter a park then you can hop to other parks as often as you want. Yes you can hop to all 4 parks on the same day.

Most guests do not need a theme park reservation any longer. Only if you have an AP or undated tickets (comp tickets, military tickets, maybe some conference tickets).

If you have regular date-based tickets, there is no restriction on park-hopping. Just be aware that park-to-park buses don't start until maybe 10am.

I guess I don't understand if I will have date based tickets or not (I am going in 2026 and haven't bought tickets yet as they aren't available.)
I will be getting a package, like a hotel plus tickets type thing, is that a date based ticket?

Also people like me who stocked up on 10 day non-expiring tickets (hoppers) before they stopped selling them! I had an AP for years pre-covid and will be starting my last non-expiring in a few weeks, I have park reservations for my first park; I am assuming my hopping is unrestricted.

Yes if you have a park reservation for your first park of the day then you are able to hop to any park once you enter your first park of the day.

OP your question has been answered but to clarify - yes, as of right now you will have a date based ticket. No you will not need a reservation to any park. Yes you can hop to another park whenever you want, as many times as you want to as many parks as you want. If you plan on using Disney buses, they don't start running park to park until 10 (as of right now). You could, however hop a bus to a resort that is within walking distance to a park at any time. I think the monorail between MK and Epcot runs all day and does not have the 10 am restriction. I say as of right now because things can and often do change within the course of a year.

As for the other question about someone who has a reservation to park and hopping. Yes, you can still hop, you just have to step foot within the park you have a reservation for then you can hop. I have been known to tap into MK, walk into the front part of the hub for whatever and leave and go to another park. MK on weekends is another matter if you have an AP but we won't go into that. I've found, for the most part, reservations have been pretty easy to change even the day before or day of but I don't go on holiday days such as Christmas Day or Thanksgiving days so those might be the exception. I don't even look at the good to go days situation since I stay on property but they might come into play if you aren't and you can only make reservations for x amount of days at a time. If you stay on property you can make reservations for length of stay. Push comes to shove, you just make a reservation for any park, tap in and hop out to whatever park you actually wanted to go to.

Wait this is saying two different things.
dansdad says I don't need a reservation but Dave is saying I do?
Ah my reply was to @georgina see the question below that I responded to.

@Minuet888 You don't need a park reservation if you have date-based tickets. @georgina has older 10 day tickets that are UN-dated so require a park reservation.
